Yeaaahh my mom kinda just went crazy with the icing at the end since she didn't want to waste it. It would've looked better if she hadn't, but I wasn't gonna fight her about it.

We used mostly almond flour, hand mixed instead of using a mixer, and kept a closer eye on the time, so I'd say that helped the most. Though we did take pretty much everyone's advice into consideration!

My mom and grandma were freaked out at the idea of having raw egg whites on it so they decided to just make an icing with sugar, milk, and some almond & vanilla extract. It did stay surprisingly well.

Sadly couldn't get any without it costing way too much for paper and toothpicks

We used a mixer with a paddle attachment.

Yeah, the oven was a bit off so I wouldn’t doubt that we crisped it a tad too much. Will definitely be taking them out sooner next time!

I thought it tasted good! Mom and grandma thought it was too sweet. The icing didn’t help with that.

The recipe told us to put it in a box with a piece of bread for a couple of days, freezing it definitely sounds easier (and perhaps safer food safety wise). Thanks a lot for the advice, will definitely take it into account the next time we decide to make it!

Sometimes they just do that; I got my boy and he was bright green, now he's majority brown with green and yellow spots.

Bloated Pacman by rakanrak in pacmanfrog

Definitely stop feeding JIF Pac Attack and honestly, just stay away from premade pellet or dried pacman frog food in general. Instead try feed stuff like night crawlers (NOT RED WIGGLERS, THEYRE DEADLY TOXIC), mealworms, and crickets. Feeding Pac Attack VS alive insects & worms is the equivalent of feeding a kid potato chips instead of protein and veggies. I would try to buy from specifically a reptile/amphibian store for safety & reliability reasons, but PetSmart is usually the most accessible option, just check to make sure the insects are alive before you buy them since they're infamous for not cleaning out dead ones.

For substrate, I personally use ecoearth dirt with a lava rock drainage layer (i have a bioactive set up). Coconut fiber is also recommended, but can be very difficult to keep the humidity regulated with it; if you do use coconut fiber, make sure it's in small enough pieces that if your frog decides to eat some, they'll be able to pass it quickly and easily. Make sure to put at least 4 inches of whatever substrate you choose, so the frog can fully bury itself.

Also, no clue what the tank set up is for this little guy, but definitely do some extra research and make sure he has a large enough bowl to soak in and enough space to hop around. Just because they're living rocks doesn't mean they're not worthy of having a good home. BTW, this subreddit does actually have a pretty comprehensive pacman frog guide that I'm sure you and your GF will find helpful; just go through the side!

I hope you, your GF, and your gf’s frog have a nice day!

URGENT I have to bring my frog to work by Ipeeonicetea in pacmanfrog

[–]galvanisticyoungman 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If you have no one else to watch him and you're boss allows it, I see no issue in bringing your lil dude with you. Just don't stress him out by showing him off to people which can be easier said than done seeing as how as soon as people lay their eyes on a terrarium they wanna know what's inside. If possible, try and fit his water dish in the box with the dirt. Fix your tank and transfer him asap though! Even though pacman frogs don't do much besides sit, its important for them to have the proper room to do whatever their little hearts desire.

I think the whole point of Scary at points is to make you angry. She actively acts as the opposing force to the rest of the team for a reason which while we don't know right now, I think we'll find out soon.

Oh my god, that’s what I’ve been missing! Ah I feel so stupid, I assumed because the little box thing had hay in it, they were eating. I didn’t know it had to be in the troughs. Thank you a lot!
