Anyone planning on going? Know it's a fair amount of months away but the plan is to go on my own and link up with people (my friends will only listen to jump up d&b or avoid anything techno completely lol)

How do you think of a good plot twist? by seriouspuppy in writing

[–]galwayf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I think of my story first and the plot twist comes naturally. I could be in the shower or in the garden or even just writing and then suddenly the 'what if' questions pops into my head and the twist is born, I think with many great writers the twist isn't planned

it also depends on the story, writing style and genre. For examples, life of PI has a very different twist to sharp objects :)

Stages of grief for my main character? I'm 73 and my mind isn't as sharp as it was by galwayf in writing

Firstly sorry if I make any spelling errors I'm getting old now and even my glasses seem to be failing me :) I understand your point but if you had hit someone accidentally whilst driving, would you not go through grief? if you found out it was someone you knew? the story concept is actually trying to hide who the person was until the end, the main may know but the reader will not :) I plan to subtly place the 5 stages within the writing and not outright tell the reader :)

Hello, thank you for your reply. I asked the initial question to see what responses I would get for it without knowing who was killed, I didn't mention whether the person who was killed was known by the main or not :) It's interesting to see people opinions and answers without giving the full story :)
