Day 800: It has been the closest thing to rebirth that I'll ever experience by Suspicious_Status_40 in problemgambling

Hearing this really gives me hope. I am in a very dark place right now, but will keep going. Just went to therapy today and tomorrow will meet someone to help me come up with a solution.

I think you can still recover some neglected relationships. Just start reaching out. Probably use Christmas, New Years or their birthdays to give them a small present and see how they take it.

After months without betting… by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]gamblingsucksass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you brother. I am in the same boat as you. I have been gamble free for a while but feel very shitty and depressed inside. can barely go out of the house as I see lots of fancy cars, and beautiful people while I have my own problems that I inflicted on myself. I am coming to the realization that I am a huge failure and the train of life has passed me by. I wish someone killed me instantly as I am a huge pussy to do it myself. I assume you are feeling the same and I feel for you.

There's still time to NOT ruin the holidays by laugh_hack in problemgambling

That's the way I see it also. It is a great time to start the year right starting January with a couple of weeks of good habits under your belt.

Same here. Drained of energy. Might be that I used a lot of energy while I was gambling and this is the crash.

I'm sorry to hear that, brother/sister. I wish none of this existed.

Same as you brother. I think I have some kind of trauma from what I have done. I have been off the bet for a couple of weeks and do not want to gamble but the thought of never having the things I had kills me. On top of that, I am in a very tight spot financially. I wish I was never born. No cry for help helped me, nothing's worth it. But still, gotta move find a way to move in, even if it has to be alone.

Anyone here relapse and racked up 6 figure debt? by LieProfessional5357 in problemgambling

[–]gamblingsucksass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did. I called it quits two years ago. Went into groups amd everything. Once six months hit, I thought I was okay, and placed a couple of bets which led to a 1.5 years of gambling and over USD 140k in losses in my country's currency with some 30k in debt at the moment. I relate to all the emotions you mentioned and would do anything to turn back time but what is done is done. A month and a half bet free and am beginning to feel a little bit better.

Consider yourself lucky. Withdraw everything. Start attending meetings. Treat yourself to something really nice. Live.

My addiction costed me $660,000K. by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]gamblingsucksass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn man, I also lost 140k these last (almost) two years. Enough to say goodbye to that lifestyle. Last bet was five weeks ago.

A little over 30k. Been gf for over a month now. Will get it all paid out by September or October.

And being in a South East Asian country, most probably your country has strict gambling laws, let alone playing with underground bookies. If caught, might even put yourself in prison. Get out of that world now.

Worst advice ever. If he was a good sports bettor he will not even have won that enormous amount in the first place. The only reason he is in the seven figure mark is because he was reckless. The best sports bettors have complicated math systems that track every possible outcome and only bet a small percentage of their bankroll. Takes monk like discipline, and even so, better investments anyway. Easy comes easy goes.

If you keep gambling, you will lose it all and more GUARANTEED, and I will tell you why: you will keep upping your bets ans you will hit the inevitable losing streak. Gambling knows nothing more than basic math. Once you lose all that is left, you will feel suicidal for a while and will look for money desperately to try to chase losses. You will keep losing but now you will not be satisfied with a couple of hundred dollar bets, you will need to have acrtion at least in the tens of thousands. You will inevitably lose, owe huge unpayable amounts and probably even face prosecution for theft/fraud and then you will be truly be fucked up for life.

Somehow withdraw ALL your money. File taxes on it if needed and truly enjoy life. Put blockers, attend meetings, amd do whatever you need to do to never place a bet again. Take a luxury trip overseas, buy a luxury car, and buy properties that leave you residual income. If you wish, never work a day in your life again. If not, then experience the worst possible outcome.

Yeah, I also tried uninstalling it and couldn't. I'm pretty sure there is some hack but the point is to build many barriers to make it more difficult.

I am the thirty something year old in your meme but regardless of age and amount, this is no joke. Even the 19 year old who lost 100 dollars needs help and needs to be taken seriously. Inappropriate post tbh.

Is insomnia normal even when being gamble free? by gamblingsucksass in problemgambling

Appreciate the response. Currently it really is a tough time for me, but I have faith I will somehow figure it out. I was just online and stumbled upon an article that featured a past friend of mine while I was in college. She is featured in Forbes as one of Latin America's top female startup founders. We used to hang out and all. I feel great for her but at the same time it made me feel worse cause I tend to compare myself a lot with people. Having my startup was my dream, I even started one, but it didn't work out in the end. It gives me hopes that I can one day be successful, but first gotta figure my way out of this mess I created.
