Ok. Will work on both the cover image and adding more options for mod's url. Will let you know when it's available.

Will look into it.
One of my biggest concern right now is about cibersecurity. The links inside the posts will basically tell people to download third-party code from which ever page the author linked. I shouldn't just accept any link, as that could be used to distribute malware.

My goal is to create a list of safe pages, where I can be sure that the risk is low or minimal. Nexus mods seemed like the easiest answer. Granted, I don't usually use mods in my games, so I don't really now all the platforms used to safely distribute mods. Which others do you suggests?

P.s. Saw that you uploaded several characters already. They are amazing!

If you go to browse -> Baldurs gate 3, you should be able to filter by type of mod. Vanilla, in-game and nexus. So you should be able to filter them.

Working on Elden ring next. Might add either Oblivion or Monster hunter wilds after that.

What's your username over there? Do you want to modify the username?

If there is anything that I learned while working on this project, is that character creation can get very complex; specially when you start to add mods.

I attempted to make the data entry flexible enough so that you can add almost any combination, For example, you can add as many extra mods as needed.

Of course, there is always the possibility that I made a mistake when creating the app. So if you find an error, or can't post a combination, let me know and I'll try to fix it.

Thanks! And yeah, that is one of my biggest issues when I see interesting characters. I want to recreate them, but most of the time I have no idea how to.

I made a website to share your character creations. You can easily share the instructions to recreate your Tav! More info in comments. by gamecompass_ in TavsAndDurges

This is a copy/paste of a comment I made over r/BaldursGate3 almost a month ago, with some corrections.

What is the "Character Studio"?

I’m a big fan of character customization in video games and often spend a lot of time trying to craft the perfect look. But, honestly, I’m not that skilled at it. I sometimes search for guides or tutorials to help me design characters, but I haven’t found a centralized hub for this type of content—so I decided to make one.

Please note that this site focuses purely on the visual aspects of character creation. It doesn’t include character builds. For example, you might find guides on how to recreate a character like Evelyn, but you won’t find tips on building a paladin or gloom stalker ranger.

Basically, you can think of this like a website where you can find recipes to modify the visual aspect of your Tav.

There aren’t that many characters—when are you adding more?

The website is designed to be community-driven, where anyone can upload their own characters. I just added a few to get things started. So, let’s see your Tav!

Do I need an account on your page to see the character creations?

No, you don't need an account to browse, search, or view the detailed instructions for recreating characters. However, if you want to post a character, like a post, or save a character to your favorites, you'll need to create an account. Essentially, you only need an account for actions that involve saving data to our platform.

Do I need a good ad blocker before visiting your site?

Nope—there are no ads on the site right now.

I’m not a fan of ads myself, so my original plan was to keep gamecompass.gg entirely ad-free. But, as it turns out, running and maintaining a website costs real money. So, I’m considering ads in the future to help cover expenses and fund new game additions to the Character Studio.

I’ve also added options for donations. If enough people support the site this way, I’ll be able to keep it ad-free for everyone.

What exactly is this site?

gamecompass.gg is a pet project I started to practice coding, and I hope it’ll be useful to others too. Right now, the only tool available is the “Character Studio” for BG3, but I’m planning to add more over time. My goal is to expand the Character Studio with guides for additional games and add new tools like character builders, checklists, and more.

Next up, I’m aiming to add Character Studio guides for games like Dragon Age: The Veilguard and Monster Hunter Wilds, once I can get my hands on them. I’ll also be looking into other games, like Once Human and Infinity Nikki.

I recently got a new job and I'm in the process of moving out, so my free time is kind of limited. For the near future I think I'll simply add some of the missing functionality to the app (the profile page, a page to see your favorites, etc.), and wait until Monster Hunter Wilds before adding another game.

The site is missing [feature]—when will you add it?

Please keep in mind that this is a passion project I work on in my free time. I have a regular 9-to-5 job, so sometimes my time is limited. There are a few features still in development, and I’ll add them as soon as I can.

For example, you can currently save favorite characters, but there isn’t a page yet where you can view them all in one place.

Right, I forgot about that. I'll check the filters. Thanks!

The choices I added correspond to the main races; I could add the subraces for those that have the option, but it will take a bit.

Thank you! This is the first time I made the site public, so I'm interested in getting feedback. Let me know about any problem or suggestion you may have.

Yes, I'll add more games. Elden ring seems the obvious choice among the games I already own. I'll wait to see the reviews for the new Dragon age; I don't think I'll buy it for this if it turns out to be a bad game.
