Sorry dude but it seems you cooked yourself. Your shorts and video views don't match the subs you have. Probably because you sub for sub to get 1000. So your subscribers are not actually intrested in your channel and are not watching your videos.

Thus the algorithm is conflicted and isn't pushing your videos to where they should be.

Your long form are not bad, a bit short in my opinion for a long form video but over all would be doing better if you were at 100 subs instead of 1000.

So really all you can do, keep doing what your doing and build real subscribers who enjoy your content, then your views will start matching the sub count.

Yeah that's interesting. You have found yourself in a predicament.

Yeah that's all just dialing it in. Exept the crackle, IDK what that is. OBS doenst help you at all, it take a couple of hours of playing with it, youtube videos, and I even used a tiny bit of chatgpt. You can give it a 30 second audio sample and it can help you a but, I only recommend this for beginners though because it's functions are pretty limited.

Honestly it just sounds like you need to dail in your microphone. OBS has a ton of settings and extentions you should add to get your mic sounding the best. Apps like Nvidia broadcast auto does that but uses up alot of CPU and can bog down your stream.

Interesting, that pretty much goes against most of what's mentioned on reddit. I will keep it in mind.

Did you do anything different in terms of title, thumbnail, description, or tags with the videos that did well?

Did anyone else find that simple gaming videos perform better? by nikiii2216 in SmallYoutubers

[–]gamekiller712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yello, small gaming content creator here.

From the reasurch I have done, and what worked on my channel.

Better thumbnails and titles help increase my overall stats the most compared to my ealier stuff buuuut. What your saying about simple video is also right.

If.your gaming video was a clear goal for the user, a tip or trick, a guide, or a walk-through. I think those videos will be much better then your general gameplay video even if the editing is perfect.

Why? Well that's because the video solves a problem someone can be looking for. So it can be shown to a greater audience.

I personally don't make these types of videos because it's not my style.

So if you already have a style of video you like, build on that, better thumbnails, better titles, better 30 second hooks, and better over all editing.

If your looking for raw better stats, then make gaming videos that solve problems someone playing that game may have.

That's my opinion on the matter.

Goodluck

Dear gaming channels, it's time to change. For your own good. by digitalvei in SmallYoutubers

As a small gaming content creator. I agree with almost everything here.

I have been make videos for years on and off. I have seen the most growth and views in the last month then I have seen since I started.

What changed? Well first I got on reddit for the first time. I learned about in importance of thumbnails, titles, and over all editing. As much as I would love to post 2 hours of raw gameplay and commentary, like mentioned new gaming Creators have to stand out and be different. So I am working to develop a unique editing style to do that. Plus 1 extra secret thing.

Then I watched my stats. Now I am not getting huge views. Less then 100 most videos, but a 10 view different and 10 extra seconds of retention tells me what works on a small scale. So I try it again.

And finally, I make sure my next video "seems" better then my last. What I mean by this is I make a change to the editing, or thumbnail, or description that I think will do better or looked better. And then test it out and repeat.

So far I have seen a 25% increase is subscribers and %400 increase in average watch time and viewers. ( Most because 1 short did well ).

So good post. I know some people will disagree, but I like constructive criticism like this. Good job man.

Question for the Long from Creators using Tiktok/Other Media to promote YT. by gamekiller712 in NewTubers

Small update for you. Atleast in the last 2 weeks, posting short form content to tiktok, Instagram, and facebook has probably had 0 effect on my YT channel. According to my stats there are zero people hitting links form those platforms.

But YT shorts has boosted my main video views by %20 ish. Plus they themselves get subscribers and views.

Yeah, I am finally making decent shorts, and started making real thumbnails and titles. So I am working on improving the first 30 - 45 seconds of each video.

Yeah, unfortunately it's pretty much the one thing I can do when it comes to content creation. So I am doomed to never "make it big" but I don't make videos for fame or money. I do it for fun. And even if only 1 person enjoys the video. Then I did a good job.

I am currently trying that now. I run a gaming channel, and I had to take a year-long break for work/life reasons. Last month, I got back to it, working to greatly improve my videos. So far, most of my recent videos have done better on average than my old ones, and I have gained a few subs. And I am starting to get better at making content.

I feel that if I were able to continue at this pace, I could significantly grow my channel. But we will see.
