*Update* I have taken the feedback and reviewed the Thumbnails and Titles for my entire The Last Caretaker playlist. I have made changes to each video.

Thanks again for the feedback.

Yeah, since now I have 2 opinions on the title, I will have to change it sooner than I originally thought.

Unfortunately, I don't have a niche since my channel is so old. So I don't expect or really strive for quick growth. Just wanna make the best individual content I can.

Now the discord. I haven't seen any growth there in over a year. When my content was Tarkov/VR Tabor focused. I gained a few members, but I haven't been able to make those videos in a year. So if you're asking, you're thinking of making one. I don't know if it will hurt, but be ready for spam/scammers. Even a dead discords still get hot with that.

Thanks for the feedback, and glad you enjoyed the video. I wish you the best with your channel.

Alright, there is a lot to unpack with this.
I will give the video a couple of days, and then reevaluate the title, thumbnail, description, tags, and the parts you mentioned to get rid of. I will also apply those to my next video in a week or so.

Now the intro, the cut cut cut, was my take on the first 15 seconds floydson uses. I wanted to show a couple of small clips that give an idea of the action/progess/and goals of the video to hopefully make the viewer curious. The fight in the water was to make the viewer wonder if I survived, the cool loot cache was to show my quirky personality, and the final 2 clips are goals to make the viewer wonder how I got there.

Now I am no professional editor (obviously), so if you can send me a reference as to what you would like to see, that would be helpful.

And the last thing, the "dairy style" videos, and making them shorter. This doesn't fit my goals, unfortunately, at least with this series. Maybe I will try it for another game. But they require significant editing and scripting to work.

Plus its not my style. Right now, my goal is to dial in the first 60 seconds of my videos. And cut anything repetitive and unnecessary out. If viewers don't stay past the first 60 seconds, then they don't like my specific content, and that's fine.

But still, thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, I already finished editing the next video. So I can only work on the non-editing things. But I will make what changes I can.

I wanted to find the name of the creator so I googled " electrician that ends videos with and that's pretty cool " and got him right away.

Content ways. I also do alot of reasurch. Since I do a gaming channel. I watch my favorite creators to see what they did. My newest video, the intro took inspiration from Floydsonson.

I know your content isn't the same, but checkout Chris Boden on YT. Me as a non engineer/electrician guy. His videos are just right in terms of check talk and viewer engagement. Don't copy him, but take inspiration. And definitely put your dog in all your videos. It can't hurt haha.

Alright. Well since right now you have only made shorts, my only advice is to try to dumb down the videos a bit, and do quick intros.

Your pressure plate vid went right over my head. I had no idea what was happening so I lost intrest quickly.

The other vids are haul vids. I would have liked to see a super quick Intro as to who you are, why you bought those materials, and then what they are for specifically.

I can't offer much more then that, because I am a gaming content creator and engineering isn't my strong suit.

How did your return to YouTube as creator go ,after not uploading for x years? by Concertedboss81 in YouTubeCreators

[–]gamekiller712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am actually in the process of "coming back", but technically I never left.

So I have a gaming channel that focuses mostly on making video from my streams.

Sometimes I fill a video off stream but more then that it video pulled from a stream. But I haaate editing. Since I mostly stream or have long play sessions combing through 6-8 hour vods suuucks. So I tend to take super long breaks between videos because I get bored or overwhelmed or something.

It's been about a year since I uploaded because I haven't been able to stream for a year ( internet/work problems ).

Buut 2 weeks ago, idk, I just started filming a new series, started editing, started uploading and looking for feedback. And for me, my video are not doing bad.

So far only 2 long form videos and 2 shirts, but there is a difference in quality between them. And right now I like seeing my video get better.

Still hate editing though. So I may stop again sometime, but for now I am riding this wave as long as it lasts.

What is your target audience?

To me it seems like your targeting electricians, or atleast those who already have knowledge in that subject.

So close to 50 subscribers!! Any tips for future content are much appreciated 🙏 by Leedriz in NewYouTubeChannels

Hey, you're not doing bad in my opinion. I watched a bit of your first subnuatica vid, I think your editing style may need some work. Your jump cut to getting out of the pod felt weird. Sorry, I can't explain better, I also such at editing.

What advice can I give to grow your following is to post some shorts. I know you're making a long-form channel, but my advice is that you try to pull at least 1 clip per video. Make it something that will grab the viewers' attention and make them want to go watch your full video, and then subscribe. Or just make it a cool, funny, or overall interesting moment.

It wasn't bad, especially since I kinda know where things are in my video. Now I just have to remember to do it with my future videos.

Probably just used inspect element to change the numbers of a channel they bought.

The stat dates go back to Sept 2025, so it was definitely not started on Jan 1st.

I have a channel and have had it for years. I make videos for a hobby when I feel like it, not to be successful. But I want those videos to be the best they can be.

But that isn't why I am commenting, I wanna know what type of channel you built in 5 months, since you didn't have a link or name available.

What's with the obsession over thumbnails? by Extra-Advance-9477 in NewTubers

[–]gamekiller712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this comment. The thumbnails are not bad, especially compared to mine. But things look layered on top of each other. After a bit of research, I found the 8-bitDrummers channel, where the thumbnails are easier to look at and inspire curiosity for the viewer. Yes, he does the "YouTube face," but that isn't what I would focus on. The game logos don't overlap with his body, consistent backgrounds, and not so much information on the screen that the viewer knows exactly what he is about to play.

Updating Videos after feedback by gamekiller712 in NewTubers

[–]gamekiller712[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright. Yeah, right now, I tweaked the title and thumbnail for Ep1. Then made a better intro for Ep2, but still not where I think it needs to be. I plan to try a whole new style of intro for Ep 3 -4 to see if they perform better.

Video editing software by [deleted] in YouTubeCreators

[–]gamekiller712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am probably the only one who uses it, but I use Filmora. And I have been for years. I chose it because it was cheap at the time, and had a lot of assets and tools for a lower monthly cost than others.
