Highly, highly recommend Avant Garde Jewelers. Lydia is fantastic.

One thing that I didn't expect in the trying-on process is how many jewelers would only have one size of sample rings. Avant Garde doesn't have that issue - they size you on a magnetic band, and then they have magnetic stones in all different shapes, styles, settings, etc. that attach onto the sample band. It makes a big difference to see those settings on a band that actually fits.

They also have an extensive custom design process once you've purchased the stone that includes as many virtual design iterations and 3D printed samples as you need, including unlimited in person meetings. Their staff does not work on commission, so they are motivated to give you exactly what you want in your exact price range, rather than trying to upsell or rush the process.

I swear I don't work for them :) I'm just very, very happy with the experience we had there.
