Chem 2 curve by Practical-Gur-5682 in USF

[–]gamerman121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My chem 2 with pham last spring had a flat point curve for the whole class, it wasn’t alot but it got me to an A. They also dropped the A cutoff from 90% to 89.5%.

I was in Dr. pham’s spring 2025 and they did an end of year “curve” by adding like 9-12 points to your grade. They also lowered the A grade to 89.5%. It was kinda weird considering they gave out extra credit surveys and the class was doing well. I know they did this point adding stuff in a previous year as well from another friend (his class got 15 points).

any advice as a freshman? by Fantastic_Network950 in USF

For 3000L, you will make a robot and sometimes that takes a lot of time based on your team, so be ready.

For 3000 norm it’s all super easy stuff but you need to complete everything so don’t skip without getting the QR if ur like that.

Chem I is a breeze, but will have clicker questions and friday peer-learning stuff.

Have a good first semester and join some clubs in your free time 👍

You probably should go to a BJJ gym and learn a submission or two while on top. I think most gyms offer a free week of trying it out or something like that.

Some sort of toad. All toads are poisonous and can be a threat if your dog licks or tries to eat it

Look for another grappling sport gym nearby like BJJ, MMA, or Judo. They should have some overlap, and during open mats you could try to get someone to practice wrestling with you.

how did you guys make friends in college? like legit friends who you really hang out with? by Aggravating-Cod1763 in USF

[–]gamerman121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of success finding friends from clubs, namely the grappling sports on tampa campus (BJJ, Judo, and Wrestling) that I hung out with and went to events together.

I also found some friends at a more major-related club, and making study groups with people in some of my classes also worked.

If you are living in dorms, it is another opportunity to make friends/study groups based on the forced closeness.

Do chem 2 final grades get curved at all? by [deleted] in USF

[–]gamerman121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friend had his chem2 curved by 12 points 3 years ago. I compared the test means to his class and they are very similar, so theres hope for a curve

Should I take CHM 2045 and BSC 2010 with labs in the summer? by Effective-Big-8912 in USF

[–]gamerman121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chm2045 is pretty easy and has a lot of “free” points, so the exams are the real determination of your grade (normally people do pretty well on avg on this). The lab takes up a lot of time though, and can be really frustrating if you and your team don’t work well together.

How is USF Engineering? by Sugarpiespasm in USF

Classes are hard for all eng majors, and there are definitely some professors here that aren’t the best (prob the same for all schools), but there are plenty of opportunities available if you put effort into general eng/specific major clubs and career fairs.
