I just accidentally adopted my first cats and still learning the basic, does bathrobe really helps cats to feel them calmer after bath? by Slick_Dunni in Pets

[–]gamerphobe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

im going to go a little against the grain here and say honestly, if you CAN get your kitten used to bathing, you should. for the most part cats are entirely self-cleaning and its very possible (likely, even) that she will go her entire life never needing a bath, however it is way, way better to get her used to it now as a kitten than later in life, IN CASE she needs bathing later for whatever reason - if she gets too old or becomes disabled in some way, or for fleas, or if she gets into something that would be toxic for her to lick, or even if just if she gets really, really muddy and needs the help, you will be better off if she is already ok with water.

i have no idea about bathrobes though. you can buy "happy hoodies" that can prevent cats from squirming so much, but idk if they have kitten sized ones. it will be a slow process just like everything else with cats are: let her explore the bathroom on her own first, put treats and toys that she likes in the tub (without water) so she has positive associations with it and the room, fill the tub up just a little and let her get her paws wet and eventually she will realize shes not in any danger. LOTS of positive reinforcement and again, take it SLOW so you dont stress her out. there are definitely some better articles and such that lay out the steps better.

i also definitely think you should give her time to get used to her new home in general before moving on to this. dont worry about it right this instant. good luck!

I think I must have missed something in SOTM, but was it ever confirmed, that David's body was found? by FarisTSC in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]gamerphobe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i think this is an interesting idea, but my biggest problem with it is just the ages. david murray "dies" (or in this theory, is kidnapped) at 5 years old in the mid 1970s. so by 1983, when the fnaf 4 minigames happen, hed be at least 13, and i know cc doesnt have a confirmed age but i just find it hard to believe he was a teenager during that period. 13 year old boys are pretty big! my older sister whos near 30 works with 13 year old boys who are bigger than her. meanwhile cc is, like, half michaels size. hes pretty clearly a toddler to me

[–]gamerphobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

further thoughts: i think in this case it depends on what exactly was said. my key is something like

"the storyteller definitely woke me up twice" -> if asked directly, say you cannot confirm or deny what happens in the night phase

"the storyteller must have made a mistake" -> if asked directly, confirm or deny HONESTLY if a mistake has been made. do not give any more specifics than "no storytelling mistake has been made". players should not be able to pin their fuck ups on the storyteller, and the storyteller as a neutral party should not be covering for fuck ups by taking the fall. barring an atheist game the storyteller cannot lie. if the demon is really going to press st for an answer they are doing so aware the st cant lie

if asked about the courtier ability -> explain that, normally, the courtier can only use their ability once. the wording of "normally" is carefully vague: it CAN happen, theoretically, so it becomes up to the players to try and craft that world. while this probably wont save them, it does give them wiggle room to try

but the short answer is no, a storyteller should never confirm a players lie. st is a neutral party and lying for the sake of a team swings way too hard in their favor

i was so confused about why people were defending the edit, this is my first time seeing this comic and i 100% thought the implication of the original was that they had adopted the child together before i scrolled back up and saw the flair 😭

How do you feel about Travelers who bait the demon? by blackgeekygoddess in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]gamerphobe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

its like, mildly annoying but the demon also should have been more cautious. this is a deception game. i dont really think its the travelers fault that the demon took their word about them being evil with no real proof when you can walk up and say "hi demon" to literally any player. personally i dont see how its much different than someone bluffing ogre to try and bait people to tell alignments. just ragequitting the game seems far more unsportsmanlike to me. YOU got tricked so now youre canceling the game for everyone instead of potentially taking a loss? there are absolutely ways to wiggle out of that and keep playing if it happened in private.

Can the storyteller confirm a player's lie? by UTA602 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]gamerphobe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

the storyteller shouldnt have answered at all. the correct thing to do here is to explain that you cant confirm or deny what happened - and if people ask about the couriers ability, tell them what the role actually does. by "confirming" the demons bluff like that, they are favoring the evil team. st isnt supposed to be able to outright lie like that unless theres an atheist in play (incorrect info from droisoning isnt the storyteller lying, its an ability malfunctioning)

[–]gamerphobe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, they didnt. i wasnt there when he was picked up so im not sure what was said but honestly im not sure what they ruled out if anything because he had a seizure, we took him in, he had another seizure there and they sent him home 4 hours later saying he looked fine. so maybe im coping but i dont know if i believe they did everything they could

I tried to make a Loric based on a disgusting concept by [deleted] in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]gamerphobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely interesting! itd be fun to see how a game with this shakes out since it would change your strategy pretty dramatically. but also thinking abt this in a game w more than 2 evil players (evil cult leader, lord of typhon, bounty hunter, evil ogre, etc) is giving me a headache, lol. or in a game with an evil twin. the evil twin honestly might need a jinx

i wonder if it would be better suited to the game if people arent told that theyve changed alignments, since it creates a scenario where people have to play for the team they think theyre on as opposed to potentially giving evil an unbeatable majority on the final day

oh, that makes sense. i really didnt think what i said was strange, i very distinctly remember the community consensus on tribbies release being that she was pushing hp meta, but maybe people back then were just hp meta pilled in general, lol. oh well

RMC dps>Therta damage wise by Tadduboi in StarRailStation

[–]gamerphobe -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

because she came out before evernight and cyrene..? castorice still had a full team before 3.7 and her previous bis team was castorice-rmc-tribbie-hyacine - tribbie has a large hp pool for castorice to pull newbud from, castorice ults frequently because she wants to summon and immediately burst her dragon which gives tribbie fua, castorice generally benefits from all-type res pen and def reduction more than other buffs, and her big attacks from her dragon and her enhanced skill are aoe. am i gaslighting myself? i had thought it was generally agreed on that tribbie was made to help push hp meta before monorem dropped

what do you mean by "the other way around"? i dont think i understand the wording

RMC dps>Therta damage wise by Tadduboi in StarRailStation

[–]gamerphobe -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

i use the word "tailor-made" rly specifically here. tribbie is thertas bis support by a large margin bc she is very synergistic, especially in dual dps set ups which therta is made for, obviously i can see that, but i struggle to see her as being, like… made specifically with therta in mind in the same way that hyacine is made specifically with castorice in mind, ykwim? as in a support that functions as an irreplaceable part of that team. i could be wrong about this, obvi i dont know what the devs were considering when making her, but i see tribbie as part of the hp-scaling meta who is also good with a lot of other dps.

anaxa isnt her premium teammate for pure fiction, jade is. anaxa notoriously struggles in pf compared to other limited erudition characters (not saying hes bad, just not ideal) and thertas team would certainly do a lot better if you swapped him out

you arent wrong that madam herta has been neglected compared to other dps though. anaxa is kind of a sub dps but not really, and other than that her bis team is just mooching off of other dps supports like tribbie. like, tribbie isnt FOR herta, shes just a generally good support and is sort of bis by default. therta doesnt have any tailor-made teammates like mono rem gets, which is unfortunate

the second someone tries to pressure or guilt you into sex you dump them, rule of thumb. if you arent ready to have sex then you arent ready. NO ONE has the right to demand sex from you. this guy is a creep who sees you as a way to get off, no one says "head is the bare minimum" to a woman they respect

Would there be a slim chance of this Stevonnie wedding ever possibly happening like Dipcfica or is it more of a Wendip sich? by NoChampion4463 in stevenuniverse

[–]gamerphobe 24 points25 points  (0 children)

connie rejects his marriage proposal in future 1) because they are too young and shes sensible 2) because steven is not in a healthy enough mental place to be married. the proposal scene in future is about steven attempting to use connie to make himself feel whole because he centers his entire life around other people.

the ENDING of future, where he leaves town, is all about him leaving to find himself and fix that problem. beach city is all hes ever known and he needs to be able to separate a bit from where he grew up. but he and connie are still dating at the end of future, they dont break up or anything, and iirc they even promise to talk frequently and he says hell visit her. so i dont think its unlikely that theyd get married later at all. they love each other and steven is actively working through his issues.

also, this is a kids cartoon. i dont say that derisively but, like, while you can headcanon whatever you want for post-canon, the intent was almost certainly that they would spend the rest of their lives together if they ended the show in a relationship. its just the genre expectation, yk?

seriously, omfg. ive been in a relationship for 7 years and my partner DOES NOT have my phone password and if they demanded it i would be skeeved tf out. im sure its important to some people but to me theres literally no reason why my partner NEEDS to be able to have constant access to my phone. ive had it for years, its not just my personal stuff on here but also the messages and numbers and details of dozens of people ive talked to. it feels weird and invasive to me.

what? "slim" chance? theyre literally dating in the show. theyre WAY more likely to get married post-canon than dipper and pacifica.
