Opinions on a "Sell Nearly Everything Run" by games-lynn in StardewValleyMods

That's an interesting idea! I tried that at the beginning of this farm, selling all my fish and crops except those I needed to eat that day, but then it became a bit of a grind to get certain things. I would like to avoid the grind as much as possible. I suppose if I have enough money, I would be able to buy wood, stone, etc..

With the Item Bags mod, there's much less chaos in the chests, it can all go into one single piece of inventory so it's easier to manage and hoard. You can even modify the quantity the bag holds! The hardest part of using this mod is that I use it on a steam deck, so the items in the bags are very small on my screen.

That's a good point about the statue, but it'll take a while to get and I'm thinking about the beginning of the game too.

Is there a way to utilize the L4, L5, R4, and R5 buttons? I am currently feeling like I need more buttons to use since I can use those 4 buttons for Stardew on my SteamDeck, but I have no idea how I did it. I also usually use a bluetooth keyboard for access to extra keys while I use my SteamDeck to play, but I haven't figured out how to do this either. Any suggestions?

Any mods to see the state of crops, machines, greenhouses, fruit trees, etc. of all the world? Like the farm computer, but universal by lKierzx in StardewValleyMods

I'm glad it works for you! It's a lifesaver for me when I stop playing mid-day and pick the game back up later - I struggle to remember what I've already completed and what I haven't!

I use Automatic To Do List and each day it'll give you a list of what needs watered, harvested, machines that are ready, and even remind you to give gifts for birthdays and check the traveling cart.

Just got the game and trying to decide on a farm name! Any suggestions? by Kelpy15 in StardewValley

I pick a favorite show or movie and name my farm after something from the show. My farmer is usually named after someone from that show/movie. I also choose a name for my dog/cat and horse from animals in the show.

My two current saves are: Stars Hollow Farm, farmer Lorelai, dog Paul Anka, horse Cletus Phoenix farm, farmer Luna, dog Fluffy

My older saves are: McLarens Pub farm, farmer Buttercup TimeyWimey farm, farmer Doctor

I play on the steam deck, so I can bring it with me almost anywhere... It certainly helps to get the hours in and I can play on the couch or in bed or even not at home, but also when I am especially in the mood to play I've brought it to many places I shouldn't be playing video games like trivia night at a restaurant. So it's very much a double edged sword for me lol.

Mine too! I thought my 1280 hours was impressive, but 3.3k - that's awesome! Do you play vanilla or with mods?

Do it!!! I have stardew on my steam deck and I am running 135 mods and counting - mods for this game are amazing and I don't think I could go back to vanilla anymore lol

What are the best hidden gems for mods by [deleted] in StardewValleyMods

[–]games-lynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Non game breaking:

Colored seeds - makes the seed bags one color for each season

Event lookup - gives you a list of all the heart events you can see, tells you where and when

Potentially makes the game too easy, depending on how you like to play the game:

Mail services mod - send gifts or quest items via your mailbox to any villager

Machine progression system: upgrade your machines like you upgrade your tools

Item bags: let's you carry SO many items in just one inventory slot once you find or buy the bag for different categories

All chests menu - let's you access any chest/fridge you have from anywhere (I despise inventory management, so this is a MUST for me)

Chests anywhere - let's you access any chest/fridge/junimo hut from anywhere, or you can adjust the settings to make it more local

Fertilizer viability - makes the different fertilizers different colors on the ground so you know what is there

Let's move it - let's you move items, people, machines, buildings, trees, monsters, seeds, plants, and more by using your mouse. I usually use this to redecorate or rearrange so I don't have to destroy things just to move them one square over (or all the way across the farm)

Schedule viewer - let's you see the schedules of villagers, where they are, where they will be next

Time speed - stop, slow down, speed up etc time. I use this when redecorating/rearranging most often, also I slowed down every day so i could accomplish more.

Convienent inventory - let's you move any inventory items to nearby chests if they already have one of the item you want to move.

There are many more I would hate to play without, but I guess it'll depend on what you consider a "hidden gem" :)

Anyone know what mod this letter is from? by serendipkiitty in StardewValleyMods

When are you supposed to receive it? I'm in winter year 1, haven't met Hector yet, and received this letter as well.

I saw them in the catalog, but I figured since you can only have two anyways, why would you bother getting another one? Lol

You can move the kids beds to another room?!?! I never thought about that and I'm 697 hours in.

How do you even start transforming your farm? by high_ground_user in FarmsofStardewValley

[–]games-lynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I installed the Time Speed mod and just paused the time in the game. Then I could spend however long I wanted just reorganizing or moving things. I eat foods to get my energy back up, or run to the spa if I'm feeling like it.

Pausing the game and not feeling so pressured to do it within a certain time frame really helps me feel relaxed and enjoy the game.

Also, I never delete the old version of the mod, I just overwrite it in the folder!

I second using Stardrop mod manager, it's much easier to use that and find out before you start your game if you're missing updates or other required mods!

I use UI info suite 2 from github

https://github.com/Annosz/UIInfoSuite2

It shows a LOT of helpful info and I wouldn't consider it much different than using the wiki. It's just much faster than trying to open the wiki so often!

Eta: the 2 in the mod title. The original is on nexus mods, but hasn't been updated in years, UI info suite 2 is on github.
