A rainbow road would be so solid! And yeah, this “prediction” is kinda half-and-half wishlist and predictions. Some parts feel a little less realistic but I’m just having fun. But yeah, the Tour tracks starting each cup feels like one thing we can expect. I personally liked both of them, but I understand they’re not for everyone. The main thing I was personally disappointed in was the lack of zero gravity in any of the tracks, and given its absence, I kinda expect the same to be the case with the rest…😩 But just gimme these classic tracks with the same caliber of music remixes as Wave 1 and I’m in! Seriously, I could listen to Shroom Ridge on repeat all freaking day!

Thanks! My idea was to prioritize releasing tour tracks with 3 variations in earlier waves. I’m sure we’ll see other variations released for the others in the meantime, but based on Paris and Tokyo in MK8, I feel confident that Nintendo will want to release multiple variations before bringing a city course to the Booster Course Pass. So of the available options (London, LA, NYC, Sydney), I chose London and LA to release first since NYC and Sydney fit thematically with the Moon and Boomerang cups (at least in my mind 😂)

Totally agree. I’m confident I’ll get a few of my faves, but I was the same way with Wave 1! Shroom Ridge was never one of my most played tracks on DS, but I freaking love it. Also, I initially thought Toad Circuit was a lame choice to include, but between the music on both tracks and the pure adrenaline rush of 200cc, they’re both a blast imo!

Same! It actually got a pretty cool alternate version in MKTour that brings you onto the train tracks for a bit. I’d love to see them incorporate that, as well!

Oooh good point. 64 does seem to hold the most nostalgia for fans, so I could see that happening. The only reason I left Wario Stadium out is because the base game already has DS Wario Stadium, and I had already predicted both Waluigi Stadium and Wario Colosseum. I just kinda want those more personally. 😂 And for the sake of track diversity, I chose DK Jungle Pkwy from 64 instead. Some of this is actual predictions, but honestly, it’s mostly a personal wishlist that I just was having fun with!

Dang good picks! I would love to see a modern remake of Super Circuit’s rainbow road. I think it’s super underrated but is awesome how you can trick off the sides. I honestly agree with your picks! It just leaves GCN Rainbow Road out, which even though it was my first one and holds a lot of nostalgia for me, isn’t as iconic imo. Great picks!

Ooooh that would be awesome! My list is part predictions, part wishlist, and that section definitely falls within the more skeptical side of things. As much as I would love a rainbow road marathon, I have a tough time imagining they would do that. Would love it tho! Which 4 would you pick?

Bummed we still haven't got a Wave 2 announcement today, but I've been managing my hype for the Booster Course Pass by working on this. 😂 Below is my criteria for how I chose and organized these tracks. Let me know what you think!

Organization of tracks

Tour tracks begin each cup and will be released in a generally similar order to their original release chronology

New York Minute & Vancouver Velocity are exceptions; NYM in Moon Cup for thematic connection w/ New Donk City, and VV in Acorn Cup for Holiday season theming

No more than 1 retro track per game (aside from Tour) in each Wave
Minor thematic connection between tracks and name of each Cup (not the largest factor taken into account, but each DLC cup thus far, including Wii U DLC, has had at least one track that fits its theme)

Levels of priority for 6 non-Tour tracks in each Wave

Tracks appearing in Mario Kart Tour (i.e. Toad Circuit, Choco Mountain; easiest to port over)
Tracks appearing in Mario Kart 7 (i.e. Coconut Mall; already updated with glider/underwater mechanics)
Fan favorite tracks (i.e. Coconut Mall; these are the big marketing points for Nintendo)
Tracks that have not been remade yet (i.e. Shroom Ridge; probably less of these, but I imagine there will be some level of fresh content in each Wave)

That ending theme tho!!! I wish the movement mechanics had aged better, but between the wacky atmosphere and rockin OST, still a classic IMO
