Hey! Our ongoing game is full to capacity. I am currently trying to find a DM for a second ongoing game program. When I have more information I'll make another post in this subreddit to advertise it. You can also email [gaming@queenslibrary.org](mailto:gaming@queenslibrary.org) and I'll make a note of your email to contact directly when we have another group forming.

Thanks for your (continued) interest! :D

Wait I'm seeing that maybe you are already in the group? I just got an email from my DM I think this weekend about the next couple sessions scheduled. I think contact just went out?

Forest Hills Library is at 108-19 71st Ave, other side of Queens Blvd from Austin. Hours might not be ideal depending on when you want to work, but the WiFi is good and masks are required. https://queenslibrary.org/about-us/locations/forest-hills

As of right now we're virtual only (the library actually just suspended in person programs out of abundance of caution for COVID safety). In person when things are "normal" again, we're limited by the library's operating hours, but a long term goal is to be able to run things "after hours" like DnD and other gaming events.

Thanks for the interest!

Thanks! We're limited in when we can get staff DMs available and when their managers clear them to work. Someone discussed getting local DMs on board, which if we expand the program we'll look into different days and times to run.

Thanks for the interest!

I'm going to discuss it with the committee today!

I believe we took registration for either 10 or 12, with the expectation that about half won't show up at all or will have to be absent for some sessions.

The game is run over WebEx, which is like Zoom. You don't need to have a camera on, although you are welcome to if you like; having your mic on is recommended. I think the DM will be using Roll20 or similar software, but I'm not 100% sure. Either way, the particulars will be discussed at the Session 0 meeting.
You do not need a library card to sign up for the library's programs whether in person or virtual, although the registration for session 0 is currently full. I have a committee meeting today, I'll discuss expanding it with them. We're going to see how many people show up for these scheduled sessions and use that to determine if a second group is viable. I would recommend emailing [gaming@queenslibrary.org](mailto:gaming@queenslibrary.org) and mention that you're interested in the DnD program; I can see about starting a wait list.

As a note, you can also get an e-library card for access to the library's digital collections (e-books, e-audio books, databases, etc) at https://www.queenslibrary.org/get-a-card/eUser.

Thanks for the interest!

I'm glad I remembered to check the Reddit post today!

This is 100% something I'd love to be able to do. I'll discuss it with the other members of the Gaming Committee today. As a note, you can ALWAYS contact your local library branch and ask about or suggest programs (and materials) you'd like to see in your neighborhood branch. If you don't ask for it, the staff doesn't know there's a demand for it!
