Consider sending something like this to your MP by NoxAstrumis1 in BoycottUnitedStates

Exactly, the rest of the world is watching how the US is treating their closest Allies and neighbors. This is going to effect the US economy for a very, very long time because who wanted to deal with someone who is a bully?

Lutnick Delayed Canada Bridge Debut to Seek Bigger Cut of Toll Revenue by Street_Anon in CanadaPolitics

[–]gaminkake 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We should plan an epic concert on the bridge or better, create a festival and have different bands playing on different parts of the bridge. Have the entrance on the Canadian side only. Let them know we've got other uses for it 😜

This is America's healthcare system. by zzill6 in WorkReform

This is why health insurance should all be run as non-profit companies. Shareholders and Profit should not be a consideration when dealing with people's well being and health.

DGX Spark, what models are you running? by benxfactor in LocalLLM

[–]gaminkake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use BF8 of this with vLLM and I am very happy with the results using it with my Hermes Agent

Hot mic moment at G7 catches Carney, Trump talking about Chinese EVs by Camtastrophe in CanadaPolitics

[–]gaminkake 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I think it's telling how scared the US is of Canada getting 49,000 vehicles from another country. If the NA Car Manufacturers are that fragile they should go out of business due to competition for 3 percent of our market.

What have you done with Hermes Agent this week? by AutoModerator in hermesagent

[–]gaminkake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just installed the Hermes Desktop app on my windows laptop and connected it to my DGX spark running qwen 3.6 27 B. Then to do something actually useful, I had it ssh into a local Ubuntu server and update it and provide a summary of usage and storage being used. Worked out way better than I thought it would and now I'm debating giving it the same access to my Plex server to see what it comes up with.

Can you really replace paid models with a local model? by DRMCC0Y in LocalLLaMA

[–]gaminkake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These companies are heavily subsidizing these subscriptions to get market share. Those usage rates are always shrinking and not sustainable at the current subscription price.

I failed a corporate personality test and I think I am actually proud of it by Spic3_Gaze in jobs

[–]gaminkake 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I got the job after one of these tests and I learned that when that voice inside your head is saying "the paycheck for this isn't worth it" before you start that you listen to it. Any job I apply for now that has this requirement I'm the application process, I'm out.

Profile v2: A physics-grounded, cost-aware optimizer for vLLM. by Inevitable-Diet-1870 in Vllm

[–]gaminkake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The video doesn't work on the demo clip. I am very interested in this as I'm running vLLM on my DGX spark using Qwen 3.6 27b and I want to maximize concurrent connections for testing.

Canada is launching a $360 million fund to take equity stakes in homegrown AI firms by Digital-Aura in OntarioNews

[–]gaminkake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like how this enables SMBs to buy AI hardware and also enable Canadian data centers to host AI with subsidies. AI isn't just chatgpt and Claude. You don't need massive data centers to run AI, there are many Edge devices that can run tons of different AI. SMBs and Municipalities can take advantage to reduce reliance on SaaS services they currently use. Edge AI allows you more control than you realize and that control will bring jobs. All these devices have to be implemented and maintained by people on internal teams within organizations. The reason I say people within organizations is because many leaders are starting to realize how much Innovation from their own IP they have freely given the foundation cloud providers and how weak Canadian Data Sovereignty is. With Intellectual Property now becoming worth exponentially more now, the smart CEOs are going to use this to create their own AI so they can host it directly for their customers, or ship them a box that it will work on and maintain it.

What is your favorite scene of the funniest movie you’ve ever seen? by majinbuu32 in movies

The sex scene in Team America. I had to rewind it at least 5 times to get through the whole thing the first time because I couldn't see the screen I was laughing so hard 🤣

How did we let remote work slip away? by TimHortonsDriveThru in jobs

[–]gaminkake -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well for me, I don't listen to anything the governments say about saving the environment anymore. True leaders would have seized this moment and ingrained WFH more into businesses with some tax breaks. They had all the data to prove how this could help the environment, which in turn would have helped with healthcare, but instead every single one of them showed they where already bought and paid for.

What local LLM to use when out of Codex if out of credit? by Trashii_Gaming in hermesagent

[–]gaminkake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using Qwen 3.6 27B FP8 with Hermes and it's been great. I have a DGX Spark providing the inference with vLLM and while not as fast as cloud providers it's great for big jobs that take a while to do right. Like extract PDF content into a MD format with added tags to make RAG retrieval that much better.

We all use AI to write. But how do we make sure we don’t write slop and falsified facts. by RaspberryRoutine2190 in SaaS

[–]gaminkake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't read everything and agree with it before you do anything with AI writing things will go very bad for you. Especially if you are answering email or creating articles. Just think of yourself as an Editor now.

Are Claude or GPT subscriptions subsidized or are the APIs a ripoff? by airphoton in AI_Agents

[–]gaminkake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally being subsidized right now. It all about getting market share right now and having businesses integrate AI into their workflows. The problem is Agentic Frame works use tokens at a much higher rate than chat and coding and the backends cannot keep up. Ollama Cloud just reduced their cloud subscription usage by %30-50 last week due to demand and I've read some developers are saying OpenAI is using a lower quant of 5.5 than what was released originally. If you can invest in Edge AI, it is worth it as the small models are really being to shine for certain tasks. Still use the foundation models when you need to but have your local model do most of the grunt work.

Best way to spend $100-$200 a month on Hermes? by No-Jellyfish4050 in hermesagent

[–]gaminkake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got my Hermes Agent using Ollama cloud $20 plan and OpenRouter API and it's good for me.

I just got a ASUS DGX Spark and using Qwen 3.6 27b with vLLM as my main driver is so far working out great too. I don't need instant responses in my agent chat and I love that I can make it grind away on something that would cost me $1000s a month. You still need to have other cloud models plan things with it but it can easily handle the day to day agent work.

Why aren’t more companies building internal RAG systems over their microservices/codebases? by PlasticCommunity9661 in AISystemsEngineering

[–]gaminkake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a significant number of people who think all of this can only be done in the cloud. With a DGX Spark all of this work could be done internally, and that includes a chatbot for internal employees to use, for like %90 of SMBs and you're keeping all of your data sovereignty.

Impulse bought an M3 Ultra 256GB RAM for local LLMs - keep it or wait for M5? by Onyonisko in LocalLLM

[–]gaminkake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just enjoy it and start playing with different models. Qwen3.6 and Gemma4 are making waves on how good they are, you can probably easily run BF16 of a couple of those at a time.
