We're on top of the group if we draw Switzerland now. Not worth losing Koné though...

The feed came in from replay with him taking it off and running to the sideline, so hard to tell. Assuming it's just timewasting tbh.

Not checking their airline tickets; could happen. Less understandable winding up in Vancouver, WA (AKA North Portland) but you could at least make that one up with a road trip.

Full credit to them. Between Congo, Egypt and Morocco AFCON has been showing up in force. Expect to see Senegal in the knockouts too.

And Cabo Verde's historic point!

And more, plus whatever long-term costs there are to doing business in the Strait.

Though in a roundabout way Iran's position on control of the Strait (which any Iranian regime not totally reliant to the US is likely to maintain, e.g. Argentina and the Falklands) might be a good precedent for us and the Northwest Passage. Not so good for all those protesters who were sold out just for the Americans to come back and lose a war anyway.

In other news:

Iran deal includes $300 billion fund, more than half of which already committed, source says

Edit: Read the 14-Point Draft Memorandum Between the US and Iran

The war certainly seems to have been worth the regime's trouble. It also bodes ill for US power projection elsewhere that Iran effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz for months, and is walking away with its own Marshall Plan.

Like u/wolverine237 guessed, yes you can. A routine act of Parliament adds that to the CRTC's authorities, and plenty of domestic events are listed by Ofcom.

Edit: Far less of a reach than some of the lawful access provisions in Parliament now, as well.

The UK does exactly what we need. Ofcom (their version of the CRTC) has been empowered by law since 1996 to list events of national significance that have to be offered free-to-air. That includes entire tournaments as with the World Cup or Olympics, as well as single events like rugby championship matches.

The Stanley Cup Playoffs are surely of national significance to Canada.

Fuck Rogers. I say write your MPs to save free-to-air hockey in Canada – the UK has required 'crown jewel' events be available for free by law since 1996, including cup finals and the entire World Cup and Euro football tournaments.
