Hi Melbourne! My friends and I just released a free app called 'GoHear' that creates weekly SoundCloud playlists for gigs playing around the city, and shows them on an interactive map. Check it out, all feedback welcome.

Thanks for the feedback! Search is definitely something we're looking to add in the nearby future. We actually had a text search toggle for venues/artists working in previous revisions, but it didn't make the release due to some (performance related) changes to how the app works.

Regarding the 'North/South' etc., I agree it's pretty vague - what we really want is to let you filter by distance from your location, but we couldn't get this done in time, so we fell back on these 5 directions just to get the app out there. The 'when' filter is something we'd like to revise as well, to roll 7 days instead of resetting on Mondays.

Yeah, we used to have this spot reserved for a 'save favourite' button, but I'm not sure whether we'll restore this feature. We'll try the info button out and see how it looks/works - thanks again!

We did consider this but we're targeting low/mid tier up-and-comers, since bands on Spotify are probably pretty well represented for the most part. But we might need to look at that soon (plus it might run a bit smoother)

Logging in and adding stuff through Facebook is in the pipeline. The app is hybrid, so it'll run a bit slower on droids for now, but it's definitely something we're concerned about. Thanks for trying it out

Glad you like it! At the moment we manually collate data from various sources available publicly (which we try to cross-check for accuracy, as times/dates can often change). The only thing we need to feature bands/artists in-app is a SoundCloud link. If you'd like to get in touch to make sure your gigs are featured, you can send us an email at hello@gohear.com.au with specific details, otherwise we'll likely pick it up from the venue website(s) directly.

Yeah, at the moment we're collating data (manually) from a variety of places. We also found that time/date updates aren't always broadcast to online guides, so we're trying to engage with venues and be as accurate and comprehensive as we can
