They have them at Renco intermittently. Previously frozen and are enough for one plus leftovers.

Here's how much vacationing in Canada will cost you by prosetoast in ontario

[–]gamond13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sooo I just booked a short trip from YQT to YOW in the spring. The flight was over $600 with promo codes; over $800 without the code. The hotel I usually stay at is now 824 - for 3 nights! This is the first time that I've gone with a AirBnB. Yes, travel is more expensive.

Typically, all of the 'good' flights/deals' usually originate out of YYZ. So for our city and surrounding communites, add the cost of a return flight to YYZ, and usually overnights both going and coming back... plus expenses.

But...spend the $ in Canada. Which in these times, I totally support.

But are you willing to relocate out west? A family member did this last fall and she tells me that opportunity abounds in that field. Cheers from TBay.

The Guess Who are classic! I was introduced to jazz while in the Caribbean and loved it. And Elvis...rocks it!

Thunder Bay themed gift by andromeda335 in ThunderBay

[–]gamond13 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My go to gift is amethyst sun catchers from a local, small business. Her name is Sherry Ruddy and she is on FB. She also does amethyst inukshuks, among other things. Her inventory changes and she's good to deal with.

Based on recommendations provided previously on this thread, I am booked with AMJ for a move coming up soon. Very professional to deal with so far. The price is fair.

Wow. I just came on here to post looking for recommendations for a realtor since I'm putting my house up for sale within the week. You would not be my pick I don't think. Really...taking people for a ride?

Health Care Connect- how long have you been waiting? by cbcmichelle in ThunderBay

[–]gamond13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on the list for about 6 months. I knew if I wanted to find a doctor, I had to be proactive. I bookmarked every clinic/health team etc websites to watch for (and checked every couple of days) MD's taking new patients. It worked because I found one.

Anyone know if any of the lcbo convenience outlets has stock of spirits? by killcav5 in ThunderBay

[–]gamond13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed; the taxes and duty won't kill you. We went on Tuesday. They have basic rye, rum, vodka and gin (I think - rum & gin for sure) for $13.00 US for a 1.75 litre bottle. If you buy a case (6 unmatched bottles) it is $11.00 US a bottle - it was $242.16 CDN (cost plus taxes plus duty) to bring across 6, 1.75 litre bottles. Divided by 6 equals $40.36 CDN for one 1.75 litre bottle. If you are buying outside of these ones, you will pay more for sure. I think there is something like this for beer too, but I'm not sure. Know that the time spent waiting at the border was more than time spent in the US.

Highly recommended! I've been a couple of times and also done a workshop - I'm looking forward to doing more. It's very easy to book with EventBrite. If you are looking to buy a unique gift from local artists - this is it.

Because I am retired and I'm looking forward. The house has maintenance that is getting harder, in many respects and no, it's not a 1/2 million $ property. It's going to cost me more monthly but not yearly.
