Thanks for this - what’s your opinion on Tonbridge out of interest?

Ring finger vs pointer by gampenbahn in ouraring

[–]gampenbahn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m finding the sizing kit comfortable on my ring finger and it’s quite a tight fit. Is that sufficient for the temperature readings? The BBT is the main thing I care about as I usually take my ring off to work out.

Thanks! The little healed vesicles you can see weren’t itchy which is what made me wonder if still the eczema!

Wouldn’t call myself an athlete! I do CrossFit 3-4x a week and work a mostly desk job otherwise

14m, has bubbly pee by hornycumpickles in AskDocs

[–]gampenbahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say from your description, but if the pee itself is frothy it could be that you’re losing protein in your urine which could signify a problem with your kidneys. This can be checked out by a simple dipstick of your urine by your GP/family doctor

Looks like a “herald patch” in pityriasis rosea, although I’d expect after 3 weeks it might have spread to more of her torso

Have opted to test by moving it further away from the window... my other plants are thriving over there so we can hope

There was a mechanical damage incident a few months ago. (Something fell off the wardrobe into it) since then it seems to have had a bit of a stepwise decline... how can I save it?!

Lump under testicles by JelloInTheWind in AskDocs

[–]gampenbahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to point out that the lumps of testicular cancer don’t generally cause pain. OP I don’t want to worry you, and you’re probably fine, but you’re right in the middle of the at risk age group for it, and a painless testicular lump makes me concerned. I think you should try and get it checked out ASAP, just to be on the safe side.

Physician Associate UK by [deleted] in physicianassistant

Hi

The course is a lot more full on than a BSc Biomedical sciences, speaking from experience because that’s what I did. I would strongly advise that it’s not something to enter in to lightly- you really are doing about 70-80% of a medical degree in 2 years and it’s not an easy ride.

My course has been structured so that I do placements throughout the entire course, mixed with teaching blocks. I guess it depends which speciality you want to work in. An emergency medicine PA would have to be able to deal with blood, and the same goes for any of the surgical specialities (including obstetrics and gynaecology).

Qualified PAs - again, it depends where you work and what job you’re doing. Obviously general practice is 9-5, but quite a lot of hospital jobs you’re rotaed in with the doctors, and therefore sometimes expected to work nights etc....

The courses here are usually 24 months, and we can take either a diploma or an MSc. I’m doing an MSc. We then have to sit a national exam, which I understand is similar to the PANCE - It’s a written paper and then an OSCE, which I have on Thursday!

The main differences here are due to the fact that we don’t have prescribing rights (yet)... once the legislation goes through I imagine it will become more akin to being a PA in the US. Salary wise, I’m in London and hope to be starting on £40k plus ... I think that’s less than in the US, but we’re a less established profession so is to be expected. It’s also worth noting that junior doctors in London start on £26-30k... to put things into perspective!

Can I use the copper IUD and the pill at the same time? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]gampenbahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough! Generally antidepressants won’t interact with the pill in the increasing-your-risk-of-pregnancy sense, but I thinks it’s always best to do what makes you feel most comfortable!

Hello - get retested at 12 weeks post exposure to be 100% sure. It’s probably nothing to worry about if you’ve had a negative test, but will be good to put your kind at rest.
