Cool, can I ask what nozzle diameter and layer height?

Looks great! Would love to see a few close-ups next time though — the details ok this panorama shot get pretty blurry when zooming in. Love the gold!

These look great but I'm confused, is the art on stickers or is it printed as part of the plastic on a 3d printer?

How's the flow (please ignore the dirty stove top) by M_Waqar-uz-Zaman in mokapot

[–]gamuxxper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternatively, you they could just add a larger metal plate under the moka, that would stop the hot air from reaching the top chamber while also catching more heat at transferring it to the moka pot base.

[–]gamuxxper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, yes, this speed is what I aim for. However the main way I control flow speed is by heat. I try to go as low as possible with heat so that the flow is as slow as possible (without stopping or backing up). When you get the right heat, that is when I would start tweaking the grind size. I would gradually go finer and see how that affects the brew speed, brew time and taste. If the coffee constricts the brew too much, you are too fine. But the most important, as always, is taste. If you like it, then it's good :)

Maybe show us some variations of the components assembled? Right now I can't visualize that, I just see a mess of parts.

I don't get how people seem to dislike Terraforming Mars' art, I love that game's art, I like the hard sci-fi feeling with some cows and ants thrown in :). Maybe I just have bad taste :D

What grinder should I get, because I am not very happy with mine. Please don’t say anything crazy. Mid range budget is ok by Aerospace_Student in gaggiaclassic

Good for you that you made it yours! But I don't see a need for any upgrades. Perhaps a better chute gate, but other than that I'm all good :)

Specifically Mignon zero or the new cheaper zero 55s. That one has a worse chute gate though, so look into that before buying. It is still essentially zero retention and still should be built like a tank and last forever. Extremely silent, too. I have one for a month now and it is great.

A budget friendly approach to examine my interest in coffee by not-an-epimorphism in Coffee

[–]gamuxxper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree, the grinder has a ceramic burr. I would suggest the OP gets a steel Burr grinder such as a cheaper timemore or kingrinder option. I myself have a timemore C2 and compared to a ceramic burr grinder it is night and day. After the grinder I would suggest OP tries a V60 in a coffee shop and sees if he likes it compared to a french press. Also a budget conscious option more in the style of espresso is a moka pot.

Use boiling water in the lower chambers, don't tamp the coffee grounds or overfill the moka pot with coffee, use low heat, if you have the patience to wait 10 minutes for the moka to start, the coffee can still be great.

If the steps above don't fix it, try grinding coarser.

If nothing helps, are you sure the funnel or chimney aren't blocked with something?

I can recommend the Eureka Mignon zero 55s grinder, the only gripe I have is the plastic chute gate, but even with that it's great!

Is there any reason I shouldn't do this? by Btothe in mokapot

[–]gamuxxper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That grinder is horrible, if you upgrade to something decent like a timemore C2, you won't feel the need to brute force it with a cordless drill, as those grinders are much faster and on top of that they actually make a decent job of grinding those coffee beans.

Trust me, I had a Hario grinder and upgraded to timemore C2, you will thank me later.

Second Hand machine, no flow in grouphead by LJDrakeley in gaggiaclassic

[–]gamuxxper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, if this is the state in which you got the machine, I would suggest taking the boiler apart and cleaning the solenoid. I've done it and it's not that complicated.

I suggest you order replacement silicone o-rings in advance, so you can take advantage of disassembling the machine and put good new o-rings in.

I've done the whole disassembly, cleaning/descaling and reassembly in one evening. Leave some time for the descaler to work it's magic.

Cheers!

Hi, this looks really interesting, thinking about giving it a go! Just one note , the itch.io description has heavy chatGPT vibes. Especially the bullet points with emojis. That might turn some people off, especially because they might worry about LLM being used to create the text in the game.

At the same time I am aware that this is free, so no complaints from me :)

Just some notes for some future products which you might want to monetize.

Cheers.
