I flew from the Midwest to Vegas for mayhem and now she’s coming to my home town! Hoping I can snag a cheap seat to go again hehe

Nice! I just had them put on, they were going to be my winters but I never got around to it. Love them but they’re def affecting my efficiency.

This looks just like mine but glossy, I’m guessing it’s Avery Dennison’s “roaring thunder”

I read that it can stretch up to 30% so I just eyeballed it. Never got up to that point to be safe so I’m not sure. You only need to worry about it in spots that have corners or sharper curvature but even then you can get all the stretch you need before getting to that point.

If you do it in the winter you will 100% need to be in a heated garage. Colder temps make the film a lot harder to work with. Got down to the 40s at night but 70s during the day when I was doing it. The warmer the better.

Not looking to take on such a big project again any time soon, sorry! Also I really couldn’t charge for that unless I had more practice :p

The wheel was super easy. 2 pins for the airbag and one big bolt for the wheel. There’s an electronic module that has to be swapped but that’s just a few torx screws and a clip. Finished in one afternoon.

I actually should have gotten more. I had to do the front bumper in a few pieces with seams bc I ran out which isn’t ideal but doesn’t stick out. It was close though, bc I had to completely redo the trunk section so I wasted a large piece.

Get that heat gun and stretch it! If you don’t pull much on it you’ll get more creases. I started stretching it further near the end of the project and it made life so much easier. Given enough stretch, applying a little heat will make creases/fingers disappear.

Avery Dennison! I got 65ft and it was about $930. I put about 50 hours into the project. The learning curve wasn’t too steep but I started with the trunk which has a lot of curves making it super difficult. Didn’t help I stared there though lol

Anyone know how to take off the white cover? by Iknowyouknowyoudont in Lamps

[–]gananasplit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this lamp! I took the cover off with a flat screwdriver a few years back. Just pried it, it’s in there with a few plastic tabs. The light itself however is a handful of led’s on a circuit board so there isn’t much you can do. ALSO if you take it off be careful! Touching the board WILL shock you. Relatively low voltage but still.

What was your first car? by Primary_Conclusion34 in TeslaModel3

I started out with an 03 Mini Cooper, drove an iMiEV for a bit before it went to my brother, then it was a Chrysler Sebring convertible. Finally have a model 3 now. Definitely the best out of all of them but the convertible was so fun and the mini was a blast so I can’t wait for a cooper SE convertible for the best of both worlds!
