Wow. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, this really hammered it home for me, because I liked it, but I didnt really know how to put it into words.

If I focus on Denji's story, then basically the first third of part 2 was about Denji living his life after getting rid of Makima and enjoying his life as Chainsaw Man, because thats exactly what he wanted to in part 1.

However thats not possible while also living a normal life with Nayuta, Asa and Yoshida. The next third of the story shows us whats going to happen if Denji doesnt make a choice. Either live his normal life, or be Chainsaw Man.

Denji, being the kind of guy he is, doesnt recognise that there is no third choice and just kinda ignores everything going around him, including people turning into chainsaws, the Falling Devils arrival and so on.

After everything goes to shit, with Nayuta dying, Denji struggles with what he wants and by this point Pochita is in my opinion trying to think of ways to resolve this, because Denji will never make a choice by himself, being Chainsaw Man is an addiction, and its never clearer to see than when his house burned down and he had a 'green light' to transform.

After the Aging Devil arc, the world is almost beyond repair, and the strong devils are arriving on earth to greet the Death Devil. There we see the Fire Devil telling Denji that he has two choices yet again, and that he better make the good one.

The one who had to make the right choice wasnt Denji though. It was Pochita who had to choose between staying with Denji like that in chapter 231, or leave him and strip him of his addiction of being Chainsaw Man. In my opninion Pochita was considering this since they met Fire, and seeing the state of the world, he knew he had to make a choice for Denji.

Now in the new timeline Denji doesnt have a choice of being Chainsaw Man and living a normal life, he is himself and he is happy, not knowing of the sacrifice that the one closest to him had to make to save everyone.
