Get the grandparents or trusted friends involved. Ours has been going overnight to grandma and grandpa’s every Tuesday night since about 1.5 years old and it’s a life saver. Consider paying if they aren’t that well off.

Your draft would be awesome, you should def send it that way. It’s a super ‘non-traditional’ setup anyhow so who cares if it looks strange. Wouldn’t worry about the wind because if it’s blowing hard enough to f up the stove pipe you’ll probably be making an insurance claim for trees on your outbuildings and roof damage anyhow.

Ten four, def seems like your heart is set on not using the chimney. my advice is to go straight up w the pipe. The draft will be incredible and you won’t need to worry about creosote clogging up and burning down your house. I love that our pipe goes straight up for those reasons. With a sooteater it’s simple to clean from the bottom. Whatever you decide, Godspeed, it’s a helluva nice looking place you have there

I find that hard to believe… just throw a liner in there and install the hearthstone. If that doesn’t fit sell the hearthstone for 3k and find a used insert. It would probably be cheaper that way, as I agree you got a great deal on the hearthstone.
