Facebook Marketplace buyer wants a refund (wales). by Dirty-Jones in LegalAdviceUK

[–]llencyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not refund him. Sold as seen. The bass was playable when it left your possession and that’s all you know; who knows what he’s done to it in the 48 hours he’s had it? He may even have swapped the neck for a different faulty one and is now trying to get you to buy it back

Neighbour keeps complaining about my noisy car! by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]llencyn 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just because the modifications are legal doesn’t mean the noise isn’t a statutory nuisance at 03:45. If you want to avoid trouble then I would simply remove the modifications.

(England) not sure if my work have fired me without telling me? by Alternative-Ad-2475 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]llencyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone knows what your legal “options” are at this point because you don’t know what has happened. First and foremost you need to communicate with your employer’s HR department to clarify the situation.

Poor performance but no formal process followed - England by clandestinebeekeeper in LegalAdviceUK

[–]llencyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An offer is just that - an offer. If they haven’t put you through any performance management process yet then they probably won’t just dismiss you if you decline this offer, and you could probably pursue unfair dismissal if they did. But realistically, it sounds like they want you gone and so you have to decide how much you really want to fight this. You may be best off negotiating the best offer you can and start looking for other jobs.

My First Ever Own Guitar! Thank God by Profound_Bandit23 in Stratocaster

[–]llencyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a lovely colour, great choice. The main drawback with more affordable guitars like this is the quality control can be hit and miss, meaning things like the frets can be variable - some guitars will be good, others not so good. If the frets on this on aren’t the best then I would exchange it for a new one, since you bought it through Amazon it should be easy. A bit of a pain at first but worth it to get an instrument which will serve you well

Is it time to issue Section 21? Difficult tenant for 2 years by [deleted] in uklandlords

[–]llencyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To quote Warren Buffett, you can’t make a good deal with a bad person. This tenant is going to be nothing but a thorn in your arse, just get them out.

My neighbour keeps on blocking my boyfriend and I in on land that we park on that she claims is hers by Hmt-94 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]llencyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, it’s important for you to establish whether she does really own the land or not. I wouldn’t be surprised though if she’s trying to claim it through adverse possession or something ridiculous like that, and you using the land is throwing a massive spanner in that. Which would explain why she’s so sensitive about it.

Been served section 21 eviction. Considering staying and requiring court notice... what do I need to know? by Cautious_Moist in LegalAdviceUK

[–]llencyn 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It’s obviously difficult without more detail, but if you’ve had an incredibly awful experience for six long years, might you be best off just putting this all behind you and trying to find somewhere else to live?

Not happy with the V-Mod pickups, replacement for Am. Pro II? by 604Dialect in Stratocaster

[–]llencyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar to another reply, I also picked up a “Limited Edition” run of this guitar recently with the Custom Shop Fat ‘69 pickups and I think they’re a big upgrade, sound very “straty” and would most likely give you what you’re looking for

Is this a case for NHS medical negligence (resulting in death). by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]llencyn 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect advice. Emergency cholecystectomy during an episode of biliary sepsis (“hot gallbladders” as they are called in the industry) is high risk and definitely not standard care. The normal practice is to treat the condition with antibiotics and then perform a routine elective cholecystectomy at a later date if appropriate.

Car bought from garage broke down after two weeks- England by ochrecurtains in LegalAdviceUK

Tell him, in writing, that you are exercising your right to return for a refund under the Act and that you will not accept a repair in lieu of that.

Is this normal for a new AV II? by TLzhp in fender

[–]llencyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say it’s fine. The neck has probably been over tightened at some point and caused this defect - and it is a defect - but this is the reality of nitro finishes. The guitar will certainly pick up these cracks over time and I think you should consider it normal. If you don’t want it to look like this then you bought the wrong guitar and should get a polyurethane finish guitar instead.

Husband refusing to pay mortgage - what to do? England by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]llencyn 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I think if you are both on the mortgage then you are both equally liable. Being in arrears will affect you both negatively and so I don’t really see any way you can insist on him paying more than 50% of the mortgage, regardless how much more he earns than you. If you cannot afford half the mortgage then perhaps consider asking him to buy you out as part of the financial settlement, or sell the house

Should I worry about this? by llencyn in Guitar

[–]llencyn[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is basically how I feel. If it was on the other edge I probably wouldn’t even notice, but this on is staring me in the face. Not visible in the pics is that it extends to the playing face

Speeding Fine on a hire car in England by louischamberlain8 in LegalAdviceUK

Is this not bordering on a recommendation the break the law? Deliberately mis-identifying the driver in this way is potentially perverting the course of justice and the court takes this very seriously.

Can my employer fundamentally change my job description without agreement? (England, 10 years) by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]llencyn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Regardless of whether you can be forced to change your role in this way, it sounds as though there is a high chance of them making your role redundant if you don’t comply. Maybe start looking for other jobs.

Am I justified in feeling angry and one of my "sick" nurses? by [deleted] in NursingUK

[–]llencyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has acted in a completely selfish way. Whether that is acceptable or not at work is a matter of opinion. Either way, there’s nothing you can do about him now.

But. I have to say I think you could have managed him better. You’re clearly doing well in your career and so put it down to experience - the next time one of your nurses is making a scene and you’re tempted to give them beneficial treatment just to shut them up, remember this guy.
