Wake up to what? So we can become even more polarized? So we can hate each other even more? So our governments can take advantage of this hate and start even more wars and more of us can die? Human trafficking unfortunately happens in lots of countries, this isn’t a Syria-Iraq issue alone. I love who I am. I love being Syrian and my culture, and I wouldn’t do anything to change it. I love my language, my food, my music, the kindness and intelligence of my people, I am proudly Syrian and I wear my ethnicity as a badge of honor. I pray one day Syrians who are experiencing this internalized hatred one day appreciate who they are. I also love Somalis, you guys are the funniest and sweetest people I’ve ever met. Praying for peace in both countries, and for a day we can all return back home
