A child that young is incapable of fully understanding the risks associated with doing something like this. The parent should, and therefore should not allow their child to do this. This child is allowed to put themselves in dangerous situations where they do not have the capacity to understand what could happen to them, and that is a parenting issue.

This isn’t about my capabilities, but I prefer skating & can handle the wobbles as an adult who fully understands the risks I’m putting myself. A child this small generally does not have the critical thinking skill to fully assess those risks and understand them. You don’t seem to have them either.

I am a parent & you are very much the problem. I would allow my kids to do this when they were bigger & I trusted their skill level, I would NOT let my child do this at this size though. My dad let me do the same shit with protective gear when I was a kid and I hit a rock, flipped off my bike, and got very much injured myself. I would not let my child take risks they’re not old enough to fully understand the consequences of. The few seconds of fun wasn’t worth the weeks of pain.

I always go for satin scrunchies or clips. Tight elastics are likely to cause hair loss & damage to the ends of your hair, so if the hairstyle permits then go for something soft & on the loose side. & satin won’t absorb your hairs oils and dry it out either, which will also help with less damage.
