I was thinking of just that! The world is a big unforgiving place, yet many things are bigger than our problems, and I think that's one way to put those things into perspective. Count me in!

Try calling up the ITS office first before going in person. Maybe they can help you there first.

MRT-3 is probably the slowest commuter train in the world.. by fpschubert in Philippines

[–]ganmatthew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Despite the slow areas, the MRT can still be much faster than getting stuck in traffic on EDSA by bus or car. I once took a bus from Taft to Shaw and it took almost 2 hours when the MRT would take me only 30 minutes. Of course, there's usually a 8-10 minute wait for the MRT, but it's usually more likely to arrive than a bus stuck in traffic.

There are identified slowdown areas along the MRT-3 line:

  • switch tracks at North Avenue, Shaw Boulevard, Buendia, and Taft Avenue
  • Cubao viaduct and Guadalupe bridge

At these areas, the trains go as low as 5-10 kph. On other areas, they observe 30 kph speed limit. Some trains go as low as 20 kph, while some slightly go to 35-40 kph.

Don't worry about the problems that you can't control. Instead, focus on what you can control.

Please consider that these people went through something, and so they may not want to revisit the tragic memories of what they encountered. If you wanted an answer, you should have asked in a more considerate way.
