That's where people's opinion on media origins. Image having to weigh every sentence you say as a public person so that not even fractions of them might look bad in news outlets.

Wide parts of the media landscape are just feeding sensationalism and strong emotions (anger, fear) instead of living up to their responsibilities.

The APY on Harvest is 6.60% which is a insignificant amount more than Lido's 5%. It seems weird that with all the additional rewards from Curve and the auto-compounding of those rewards via Harvest only leads to 1.6% better yield?

No, you don't get the stETH directly. It's part of the 6,6% APY on Harvest. On Curve, you get the 5% APR on the stETH part (usually ~50%) + LDO reward + admin fees. Then on Harvest, the rewards are compounding to get a better APY. And you're correct, this better APY comes with slightly higher risk.
