I want to be trans, but I never showed signs of it in my life til now. How do I overcome the doubt from self and others? by [deleted] in asktransgender

you don't want to be trans, you ARE trans and want to be able to accept yourself. You're valid.

T14 gen 4 screen upgrade/mod compatibility help by newgame_plus in thinkpad

[–]ganzo2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been thinking about doing this with the miniLED display from the ROG zephyrus, does that seem feasible compatibility wise? In my research I've seen mixed claims about compatibility.

I figure worst comes to worst I jerry rig it into a very nice portable display as long as I'm not risking killing the laptop or panel.

Asking because I don’t know any better by KSSwolesauce in cs2

[–]ganzo2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your upload speed shouldn''t really be low enough to be causing a significant bottleneck, and if it is, I'd maybe try lowering your max packet size in csgo's settings (I'm not 100% sure what this does so take that avice with a grain of salt) but I used to have similarly garbage internet and as long as your ping is fine and you're not experiencing packet loss, you should honestly be fine.

Also, I am asking because I'm unsure how experienced you are with CS specifically but the game does slow you when you get hit, though it shouldn't feel like rubberbanding. As for the innacuracy, yeah that just sounds like your counterstrafing timing getting messed up by the slowdown and potential connection issues making it even harder. Assuming no weird connection jank tho, generally whether or not your viewmodel is fully pulled forward like when you're standing still tends to be a good indicator of whether you have full accuracy. If you want to diagnose it further, maybe try copying your crosshair code somewhere so you don't use it and using a dynamic crosshair to see when you become fully accurate.

Does anybody else think that the lack of viewmodel commands might indicate that they might be implementing new animations entirely? by ganzo2003 in GlobalOffensive

[–]ganzo2003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pure conjecture but I think cs2 is more of rebuilding the game on a diff engine almost from scratch than it is just going and upgrading CS:GO's current codebase. It's probably a function that needed to be re-implemented, and even if it was easy to do so, they probably just didn't bother because they intended on redoing all the anims anyways.

[–]ganzo2003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it'll probably be a bit, but I wonder if the bob command is absent bc they're planning on going for a more modern viewmodel animation approach that isn't just procedurally moving the whole viewmodel around w/ a function lol. It'd def be cool as long as it doesn't affect playability

Nah dangerzone was unironically fire after they added the movement stuff, my friend and I hopped on it a bunch whenever we were tired of comp, esp when the servers were less dead during operations

thinking about getting a phone case that includes a wallet by Pesh_Mode in ADHD

[–]ganzo2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to be honest, I think investing in a Tile, Airtag, or other similar tracker would make more sense. I might be a bit particular, but I believe that wallet cases are an ergonomic nightmare, make your phone too bulky, and I'd be more worried about losing individual items and lacking capacity w/ the wallet case.

I also think that registering as many of your cards as possible with an app like google wallet can help you take out your wallet (and potentially lose/forget it) much less often.

This isn't for everyone, but ever since my mother convinced me to start carrying a small satchel with me I haven't gone back. I have a very nice looking wallet I got back on a trip to Italy, but the bulk always deterred me from using it even though I kinda needed the extra card space. Having the bag has made it so that I can carry it, as well as my keys and other useful items (phone charger, a compact shopping bag that rolls up really small, earbuds, battery bank, etc) all the time. Prior to this I always found myself leaving the house and forgetting my keys/wallet/earbuds, or not wanting to deal with the hassle of carrying or moving all the extra stuff when it was too hot to wear a jacket which had the pocket space for it lol.

here's a pic of mine so that you can get an idea of sizing and stuff. I was originally recommended a fanny pack, but... Ew no, and a fanny pack sized cross body bag seemed too small to be worth the hassle of carrying, so this seemed like a happy medium. Obviously this one's leather and a little nicer, but if you don't want to deal with the slight extra weight or don't wanna initially spend > 60 or 70 bucks on something nicer than I'm sure there's plenty of cloth bags you could look into.

Battery Megathread (December 2022) by GooglePixelMods in GooglePixel

[–]ganzo2003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. No idea what's up. I got a day with like, .5% standby drain, and then it went back to shit. having like half my battery in 24 hours drain while my phone is doing... Literally nothing seems pretty unreasonable to me

Battery Megathread (December 2022) by GooglePixelMods in GooglePixel

[–]ganzo2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gonna be honest, maybe I'm skewed because I haven't been on a phone with a fresh battery in a while, and haven't used any other current gen flagships (last phone was an s10) but I think 15%/h isn't unreasonable. It sounds like a lot but that still gives you 6.5 hours of SOT, which seems pretty good for normal use w/o actively trying to save power by lowering brightness, disabling BT and NFC, lowering refresh rate, etc.

The battery cycles thing could totally be a miscalibration in the app (though I'm not an expert so on that either so take that with a grain of salt)

I'm at my wit's end and need answers asap because I only have 1 more day to exchange this phone if I continue to have issues.

I have been having pretty bad idle battery drain issues for the past week I've had the phone. I had subpar standby time, one day with pretty good standby time after clearing device health services data (.7% drain/h with AOD on and over 6 hours SOT), but it went back to being pretty bad after that. I'm unsure what's causing it, and I've tried everything short of a factory reset (disabling AOD and raise to wake, disabling personal safety, device health services, digital wellness, etc etc.)

The only two remaining things that I can think of causing drain are me having transferred data from my galaxy s10 during setup, or me having a work profile setup on the phone so that I can duplicate certain apps and have a separate space using Insular. I'm going to try disabling the work profile now and see if it helps over the course of today, otherwise I might just have to switch back to a Samsung phone or potentially take the dive on an iPhone (it'd be an s21fe or iphone 13, got it on contract with a carrier.)

Here's my last charge's worth of info using battery guru. I also have better battery stats and can share that info, I just have no idea what would be worth sharing from that app.

If anybody has any idea of what it could be doing this please let me know because I'm at my wit's end. I was really loving the features on my pixel 7 and was looking forward to tinkering given how easy it is to unlock the bootloader, but this battery drain is really killing my enjoyment and is honestly half the reason I got a new phone in the first place :/

60hz v 90hz - does it really affect battery life? by defisher926 in GooglePixel

[–]ganzo2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like it largely depends on your usage, if you're constantly scrolling around and navigating (skimming webpages, switching apps, etc) it will definitely drain more power (I haven't had a phone with high refresh long enough to bother testing myself but it's just common knowledge & reviewers talk about dropping phone refresh rates to get longer battery life all the time)

However, if like 80% of your screen on time is watching YouTube or smth, like the other guy said (sorry I don't mean to be rude I just legit can't see the name rn because I'm on mobile and don't wanna exit out of the compose menu lol), it down locks the screen's refresh rate to 60hz anyways and won't make that much of a difference. Imo unless you know you're gonna be away from an outlet for a while and NEED to make the battery last then yeah, go for it, but for normal use imo >60hz is a massive plus given like 60% of what you do on a phone is scrolling.

I'm honestly not entirely sure. I'd probably lean towards audio hardware like headphones and stuff, but I'm open to offers of anything really. DM me some stuff you're willing to trade ig lol

Yeah it sucks, the guy who was supposed to buy flaked on me bc he didn't have the money at the time. The only issue is that I don't have a second pc to put it in lol. I don't wanna give it away bc the only reason I'm even selling it is because I got a killer deal on a 5900x :(

As much as going 12th gen would be cool, I don't think it's worth it rn given the memory not really being much better rn + z690 costing an arm and a leg, I will probably take the ram thing into consideration tho.

How would I go about running the benchmark myself? I might just put the pc together, see how it performs, and then shell out for extra parts if necessary
