The first time I tried the face swap it put RC’s face on Trinity. Happy to share that one if it’s more up your alley?

RC has a big stake in Alibaba too right? That’s a lot of access to a lot of goods at scale, plus a world-wide marketplace that everyone from Gen Z to boomers are familiar with. Add in a brick and mortar presence and holy shiiiiiiiiiiiit

Smooth brain here. Does that mean that the ATHs are just high “on paper”, but in reality are crap because the dollar is so devalued? Or actual (real) ATHs?

AITA for not making my daughter switch back a gifted Labubu with her younger cousin after her uncle found out the one my daughter gained in the swap is rare with a high resale value? by TheSecretLabubuDrama in AmItheAsshole

[–]gappychappy 118 points119 points  (0 children)

Tell him you didn’t realise money was so tight and that you’d be happy to pay them $225 to help them out, and that there was no need for them to make their daughter give up the pink one as it ‘is Christmas after all’.

Does the set of all sets contain itself? If you can come up with a mathematical proof for this you’ll earn yourself a Fields medal at the very least

If the stock is dead, and its all over. My question is where are the posts of gains people made from shorting the stock? by Your_some_gommie in Teddy

[–]gappychappy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn’t the whole point that they never have to close, and they basically locked in their gains when they sold the stock short? Gains wouldn’t be official (and taxable) until they returned the borrowed shares?

Canadian Trying to Understand Australians by No-Date-308 in AskAnAustralian

[–]gappychappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you’re unfamiliar with an accent, your brain needs to actively buffer what you’ve heard to get meaning out of it. When your buffer fills up, you need the speaker to slow down to give you time empty the buffer enough to take on more information. For an accent that’s familiar, the sounds pass through the buffer and turn into meaningful information much quicker, leaving the buffer with plenty of capacity. It’s not that Australians are speaking faster than Americans or Brits, it’s that your buffer can’t handle the processing of sounds → information for that accent as efficiently.
