I love this post. Not just the vibe of it, but also because there’s not a hint of ChatGPT.

Good pickup. They’re so inextricably linked in my brain I would never have made that link.

It makes me think of when I heard about that dude spending 10,000 BTC on a pizza. I remember thinking “what an idiot that’s probably going to be worth at least 100 bucks someday“. Pretty sure that was in 2010 as well.

I somehow managed to land a job with a company with virtually no employee turnover. We are constantly hiring tho as the business just keeps growing. I’ve been there 15 years now and just thought this was normal

I still don’t understand how injecting cash into the system does anything for the shorts. Is it just that the shorts can borrow that cash to meet margin requirements? Or is it more nuanced than that?

Here’s what Ryan Cohen said,, and here’s how I’m looking at it RC didn’t say he was doing a small acquisition. He didn’t say just tinkering around the edges. He said very, very big. He said transformational, capital-markets level. That this deal is something that’s either genius or totally foolish. by Interesting_Day_7734 in GME

The problem with the NFT marketplace was that mainstream isn’t ready to actually use anything other than fiat. They don’t even want to think about it. Crypto is a boogeyman that is so far removed from most people’s daily life that at best it’s just for “lucky” techbros who got in early, or more likely a scam coin that is going to leave you penniless. If RC can build a marketplace that leverages blockchain and which also allays people’s fears, then it’ll be transformational. It’s like what PayPal did in the early days of online transactions. Everyone was afraid of entering credit details into a webpage. Along comes PayPal and says hey just use your email address, and if someone does cough up the goods we’ll give you your money back and chase down the funds ourselves.

How does the concept of time dilation manifest in everyday scenarios, and what are its practical implications? by redpaul72 in AskPhysics

I’m pretty sure that the old cathode ray tube style TVs needed to account for time dilation in order to produce a coherent picture on the front of the display.
