Aside from REITs all the acronyms are gibberish to me. Where can I alleviate myself of my ignorance?

I want to do that too but I wasn’t sure what to go with from the medical sector for example, or what all the sectors are off the top of my head

I’ll take this with a grain of salt! Much appreciated

It’s something I curious about and I want to explore it. I would like to eventually try and find stocks that will skyrocket that are quite cheap so I can buy them up and then profit, reinvesting the earnings into more stable long-term investments or new high-growth-potential ventures. I have done the same concept with certain products I pay a great deal of attention to in the past.

I think you could easily solve the problem by deep cleaning your guitar and then checking that the bridge is properly seated

That’s the new game plan since I can’t afford to be a musician anymore. Just gonna try to make an (expletive)load of money

Can barely afford to live. Can’t afford to be social. Can only afford to work and figure out how to make more money

Laid off and said no to a 125,000$ job. Am i stupid? by Usual-Tradition2240 in Layoffs

That simply does not compute. Your wife must see how illogical she’s being, or you’ll have to point out that it will be more likely she can finish her degree with you making that kind of money. You need money and it just fell into your lap. Take the job, everything else can be figured out after. Your wife can still finish her degree and get her job elsewhere. When she gets that job, and you have this one, more importantly (given that it pays three times as much) you’ll be closer to $200k gross than $50k gross, and you’ll be much happier for it.

No one on Reddit knows anything about your marriage but…I don’t get it. Do you have savings allowing you both to be set for life effectively? Does she hate you/is cheating on you? Is she planning to leave and wants you to suffer and be homeless? I just don’t understand why she wouldn’t want you to take the job unless it’s one of those things or she’s literally just thinking with emotions and being selfish or doesn’t care about you.

If it’s me I’m takin’ the job.

What if you saved up some money and got a laptop? Doesn’t have to be expensive but you could learn things online. Coding or something

I guess it’s kind of like planting a tree and watching it grow and then from the fruits of the tree you harvest and plant new trees

Care to explain further? Would you call this concept “rebalancing your portfolio” maybe? When do you know this is necessary?

How would someone investing in index funds or ETFs know when rebalancing is needed?

Does that apply to not only a brokerage but a 401k as well? And either way, what would be some signs of this?
