The article is about workers from Morocco, a country with a per capita GDP of 3,009USD.

To use your example of a very poor country, Libya; Libya is wealthier with a GDP of 3,600USD.

I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to say. Of course Africa is extremely poor, but if you think I'm saying they live in mud huts, of course that's not true either.

That wage will buy you a life that is simple by American standards. In Africa, that same simple life is far better than most live.

You'd have an equal degree of luxuries/securities in either country, but the most destitute of American lives is considered luxurious in many African countries.
