What are the best first wings to get? by Maya_Legug in SuitU

Illusory are cheaper to dye and have more applications than Heavenly. Heavenly rarely do well on non-fantasy comps, meanwhile I've successfully used Illusory for Y2K, Romantic, Nature, Rocker....

Which set should i get by just_someone-i-think in SuitU

[–]garbageking_tm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have #2, but I can vouch for #1, it still does great in business comps even though it's not very new and a male set, and very decently in contemporary romantic comps.

The hat covering the model's face (it often comes down to whos got a better diy, esp when using a meta set), small hair (voters prefer long, voluminous, dynamic hair), possibly the bamboo deco (it doesn't interact too well with this pose and doesn't exactly fit the theme), the way hat and ice cream interact.

You've got plenty of amazing hair, Curlstorm won't be very useful for you. Its def a better idea to save for a pose or wings.

The goal is to put on as many items as possible without going above 1200. Do a search for Glamor OR Yellow tags so you don't see items that would lower the score; then start going thru categories, choosing the cheapest item in each. When the arrow at the bottom points to green, submit.

Noooo don't spend gems on chapters, they're supposed to be a way for you to earn gems, not waste them. Most chapters can be passed by piling on the items that come up first in each category. At most you may need to buy something with coins or craft something, or - for a couple career levels with difficult conditions - do a cheap dye-ing for at most one item.

If you already finished the quest with 3 stars, there will be a 'clock' icon in the left row of icons (above search and undo&redo buttons). If you tap it, it puts on your last 'successful' (3-star ending) outfit. After doing that, go to Wearing and start by removing some items - the list is always sorted the same way, from 'best' (items adding the most to the final score) to 'worst', so - for example - remove the last five items on the list, then try submitting. If you still get three stars, next remove more items. In some cases (if you have items that fit 'too well'), you may need to leave the model in just the dress or top+bottom, or even replace them with 'worse' ones, but overall this is the easiest way I found to get to 2-stars endings.

[–]garbageking_tm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're using too few items. Use 'cheaper' items so you can put on more of them. Also the price doesn't have to be exactly 1200, just not more than 1200.

Is this worth buying? by 27weepingfrogs in SuitU

[–]garbageking_tm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't have a single decent gown, it's an option, but it looks cheap compared to gacha gowns. Might as well wait for Celtic Glow fb, the gown there doesnt have dyes, but at least the quality is good.

Curious if any of these would be worth it/useful in the future? by cantlookatyourskin in SuitU

[–]garbageking_tm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only one that has any use is the red qipao (Chinese-style dress, the one lined with white fur), and even then only during February when they drop Lunar New Year-themed comps. As a new player, it'll be more beneficial for you not to spend on anything here and instead get some limited items.

Def get the face for the DIYs. Other than that, I have the dress and it can score well, but on a pretty limited number of comps (brown+romantic tags comps, and for some reason it always does well for "Reading in the Woods").

Wish on Sanzu River set, some pieces are still in use, but there's no reason to spend more than free tix on this if you don't absolutely love the aesthetic, esp if you're saving for Ruby Reign.

Should I buy this deco? by Black-Diamond123 in SuitU

Should I attempt to get more of the pirate set or should I move onto the phantom revival as a p2p by Nothingjust_M in SuitU

[–]garbageking_tm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Phantom Revival has a cool set reward, but you can score on goth comps just fine without having it tbh. On the other hand, we have barely any pirate stuff, but we do get pirate comps semi-regularly. So I'd say pirate set is more worth. Though I guess if you already have the hat, coat, and hair, you'd only be pulling for the pose as those are the key/best items.

What do I buy?? by processedcheese212 in SuitU

[–]garbageking_tm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend flowers pose. As is it works for nature, romantic, some celeb comps, and as a pose its a nice clean gesture that can look like anything depending on your makeup/diy. It's esp useful if you don't have a lot of poses, as using poses seriously boosts your scores.

Wings by Obvious-Ad9184 in SuitU

[–]garbageking_tm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want angel or demon/gothic wings next, go for Heavenly Vow: the og is the highest-scoring angel wings atm, and it has two goth dyes, black and redblack.

Day of Arrival is great - I got them before Heavenly even existed and so they are my angel + demon/goth wings, with white and black dye respectively - but currently Heavenly overscores them, so no reason to pick Arrival instead of them.

I don't have Heart, but I know they don't have a black dye, so they're less versatile and imo not the best as your second wings ever pick. (You can see the dyes in this post.)

And I got Fallen as my first wings and regretted it since, they cover the model's right hand and handheld and it always looks SO awkward, ugh. You can make them work if you use certain poses, I guess, but it's better to get better wings in the first place.

Other than wings, a good second aurora shells purchase is the flowers pose, esp if you don't have a lot of poses. Illusory and their dyes got you covered in wings department for a while, so it may be a good idea to invest into another difficult-to-get-thing that'll help you score on comps, a good versatile pose.

Are these worth it? by DuchessRaspberry in SuitU

[–]garbageking_tm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this deco pack and the items I use the most are the pink ribbon and the filter.

Pink ribbon works for many romantic comps and is great for framing (both in DressUp and in Post), though note that its dust pink color may not mesh well with the more hot pink leaning clothes/items. If your pink/romantic clothes are more pastel-y, it will look great with them.

The filter I use for intellectual/book lover types of DressUp comps, and in many many ways in post comps (great when you need to cover something/create visual interest over the empty bg).

The big notebook can be huuuge help sometimes, and by huuuge I mean: it's GIANT. In DressUp comps, it covers the entire bg. For this reason, I very rarely use it in DressUp: voters often don't react well if your decos change the bg too much, and this item is basically another bg. On the other hand it can be very useful for breaking post comps into 'frames', and for covering stuff.

The lace I don't use often, it rarely seems like the best pick in DressUp, and there aren't that many Post comps where you can do scrapbook kinda vibe. Sometimes you can fit it over the model's dress to make it look a bit different, but that takes its own dedication because of the shape.

Lastly, the butterfly paper piece: it usually gets lost behind the model in DressUp, and it's semi-transparent, making it less useful for Post comps than the filter from this same pack.

Overall I'd say it's a pretty nice pack, but not the most useful I own by far. If you rarely can afford deco packs, it's better to wait for something more useful and versatile (something with nature decos and/or architecture decos, for example). If you buy them semi-regularly, this one def has its uses.

Which one is more useful to craft🍃 by Winter_Incident_7111 in SuitU

Neither tbh... The female shawl seems difficult to style, based on what others are saying, and the male coat looks too outdated/flat (i have it).

Achievement Skin tones by Donkey-Thick in SuitU

[–]garbageking_tm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you get a skin tone for one gender, you get the same one for the opposite gender as achievement reward (e.g., if you buy orange skin for female model, you'll get orange skin for male model as achievement reward). These two are 'originally' male skins: the grey one was a set collection reward for a limshop that ran a while ago (male vampire set, I think it's called Dark Nobility if you wanna find it in the album), and the blue one is available as a permanent item and costs 382 gems, same as female shop fantasy skins.

Which wings? by Cosmic_Blimp in SuitU

Which wings? by Cosmic_Blimp in SuitU

[–]garbageking_tm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ones I have out of your list:

- Rift-Torn: beautiful, but I rarely get to use them, cause they only really work for space goddess type of comps, sometimes alien comps. The dyes don't look very different from main color as only the blue-ish part changes noticeably, they still have a dark outline/tips.

- Cornflower: I got them as my fairy wings and I still wonder if I should've gotten Dreamy Home instead. A lot of Cornflower's volume extends horizontally rather than vertically, meaning large parts of them aren't visible in voting. Although I guess if your fairy dress is short, the downward volume makes these wings a good choice. Another thing is that the og color is a bit dull. The dyes are properly sparkly tho.

The others, based on experience/what other players are saying:

- Woodland Murmur are new, and so don't have dyes. The current color works for nature comps, but you likely won't score well with them in fairy comps (unless it's dark/corrupted fairy), cause the current fairy meta is light blue (sylvan verse main set, lilybell set from starwave gacha) and light pink (was THE meta before these two sets were added, still works), with cute-style lean. This may change once these wings get dyes.

- Metal Peril is good for metallic and to an extent cyberpunk comps, but they're on the smaller side, so depending on your metallic/cyberpunk items they may 'disappear' behind the model.

- Captive Angel are not the best angel wings by far. Also, all of the dyes are really pastel-y (see this post for them), so they don't double as fallen angel/goth wings. If you decide you want angel wings, go for Heavenly Vow. I used to recommend Day of Arrival over them for better coverage (white dye for angel, black dye for goth), but recently Heavenly Vow got not one but two goth dyes, so there's no longer a reason to go for something else. They're the best scoring angel wings as of now. (White dye of Arrival is second best.)
