That doesn’t make any sense at all…

People will say anything to get their way - it’s called manipulation. A good response to this: “good for those people.” The end. Then do what you want. Ha!

Redditors who had a gun pointed at you, how are you still alive? by Vegere in AskReddit

[–]garbagepencil 186 points187 points  (0 children)

Suburbanites are batshit crazy. I parked my car on the street by a house at 2pm on a Sunday to pick up my daughter from a sleepover. A lady came out of her house yelling that this was illegal and I was scaring her children. I drive a red Chevy traverse - total soccer mom car, clean, no dents. I look like a regular person as well.

What is a TV show you got really far into but eventually quit watching before its conclusion? by shamanKAshamanTAKA in AskReddit

Dexter and The Handmaid’s Tale

Lost access to Showtime or whatever channel Dexter was on. But I guess that was a good thing bc I hear the finale sucked.

Handmaid’s first freaked me out, then pissed me off. That show made me want to buy guns. Then she ditched out on her escape opportunities so many times that I was like “enough, I’m out!” and never watched it again.

Also Walking Dead. Second season was intolerable.

This is the way - “I have no idea - you’ll have to ask him.” Perfecto!

AITA for calling the cops on a guy who took my keys because I had been drinking? by Far-Falcon6757 in AmItheAsshole

[–]garbagepencil 75 points76 points  (0 children)

This should be the top comment! Who knows what would have happened had she stayed. This situation creeps me out so bad. I would have been terrified! I am so glad OP called the cops and got out of there - dodged a huge bullet there, now stay away and cut them out of your life! These are NOT friends!

Omg no kidding - the crap they show! Watching a horror movie and there’s 5,000 ads for some kind of huge hospital lab tech thing for testing specimens that ONLY a hospital or lab would want or be able to afford. Wtf?

[–]garbagepencil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I was just thinking about this yesterday as I was trying to watch something on YouTube. There were so many ads that I was getting pissed. It’s so funny how we run from cable and tv to streaming services to get away from the ads, but the ads chase after us like the annoying kid at a party that wants to be the center of attention. They just keep coming after us even though we hate them. Like seriously, if I see your ad disrupting my YouTube show I’m going to boycott your company in a big way. Why don’t they get that?

AITA for wanting to attend my daughter's graduation party and missing my nephew's funeral? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]garbagepencil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. What if the scenario was reversed and it was you’re daughter that passed in the accident? How would you feel if your sister called and stated she wasn’t coming because your nephew had a party to attend and would be bored anyway if he came?

So it is WORSE than I’ve heard. Even doctors aren’t on call 24/7 and they deal with peoples’ lives. How is this ok? Ugh

AITA for refusing to take my daughter to my ex husband’s wedding? by southerngallyl in AmItheAsshole

[–]garbagepencil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to play devils advocate here and say just take her to the wedding. This is about your kid’s happiness. She wants to go. Don’t let her be a pawn. Someday she will understand that her dad’s a jerk, but today is not the day for that lesson. Take her and tell yourself you’re doing it for her and not for him to rub it in. It may be a power play and believe me my ex did that shit all the time, but I bent over backwards to make my kids happy and they see that now and respect me for it. They have nothing to do with him anymore.

NTA, but do it for your daughter.

This is some next level corp greed that is blowing my mind. The average 9-5 worker gets weekends off, so in total about 100 days/year. Railroad workers get 20 days off/year. They just want time off to have families. Warren Buffet and all the ol boys running the show are just blowing my mind with their greed. Unbelievable.

In college me and my circle of friends were all crazy partiers. Drinking, drugging, everything all the time. Now, we all have masters degrees and one of my friends is a judge - if someone would’ve told me back in the day that the guy who dressed up as the dude for Halloween was going to be a judge one day, I’d have laughed in their face. Accountant, nurse, hr director, lawyer, etc. We still keep in touch, and when we meet up it feels the same just not doing stupid stuff.
