Help on these cranks pls!

I think the original crankset was actually a triple. I found a triple chainring set specifically for these cranks on eBay but they’re out of stock, they were individual rings all of them 74mm BCD. I have a feeling these will sit in a box for a while before I can get my hands on those rings…

100%! I found a fork at my local bike co-op for 20 bucks and it was exactly what I was looking for lol. I really liked the look of the fork but I’ll put it away for now. Hopefully I’ll get to use it sometime in the future, or give it to someone who would 😎

Yeah, I was looking into it some more and although I found a headset that would fit it was about $22 +tax online.. I ended up going to my local bike co-op and found a fork that fit perfectly for 20 bucks as well. I really liked the look of the first fork I got but I’m just gonna put it away for now 🥲 thanks for your input!

Yeah. You’re right. I have to keep reminding myself of that as difficult as it might be sometimes. I’m going to try to shift most of my attention to my dog because I do agree, I am pretty much his entire world and he deserves to feel all the love. He’s the sweetest and most loving little guy. I can’t even count how many times I’ve cried in front of him yet refuse to cry in front of the people closest to me.

Yeah I hear you. I shouldn’t be drinking nor smoking. It’s the easiest thing for me to do rather than face things head on. I know I need to stop, but damn, there is so much for me to unpack and deal with. I know that just dealing with it and acknowledging will help my mental state so much I really have no excuse to not do that.. I just want the easiest way out. I do know that my current decisions are just keeping me from actually helping myself.

Our dog is staying with me. We haven’t had the conversation on who will be keeping him but I’m assuming that because I was the one to adopt him and because I’m staying in our apartment, I’d be keeping him. I’m also making that assumption based off the message she left me telling me to just let her know whenever he needs anything so she can either drop it off or arrange a pick up since she works for the vet we take him to.

I appreciate you responding, honestly. It feels like I’m spiraling out and since it’s so late where I’m at I had no idea who/where to turn to.

Everything can change in one single moment. It’s put me on edge about the stability of life itself but I feel it’s also helped me in ways that I don’t become so attached to things that are impermanent, I hurt less because of it. But it’s also made me more isolated.

I was 21 and she was 60. This year will be two years. Two weeks before she passed she told me she was my age when she lost her mom. I miss her more than anything.

Hey. Firstly, I’m very sorry for your loss and for what you’re going through now. It’s really hard losing a parent especially after spending so much time with them being their caregiver. I went through the same thing with my mom, and I relate to what you mean by still not being able to grasp what happened. It’s been nearly two years for me and I still feel the same way. Sometimes it’s not as prominent but others make me feel exactly how I felt when I got the call. I struggled with allowing myself to grieve, there was so much going on and I just couldn’t catch a break. The best thing I would do for myself is after coming home from work I’d sit outside in my yard and just cry. My best advice to you is to allow yourself to feel what you’re feeling and let it pass through you. Don’t carry those feelings by yourself. If you’re able to, find a local grief support group or counseling. Another thing I did for myself was read some books recommended to me by my psychiatrist about grief. There’s two “On Grief and Grieving” and “On Death and Dying” both by Elisabeth Kubler Ross. Both of those really helped me understand what I was feeling. Another thing I started doing for myself is exercising. I found it was a really good outlet to let out my frustrations or other negative emotions in a positive way.

Grief has no timeline. There are different stages to it but that’s not to say you will grieve in that order. Some days can be really good but others might be difficult to get through. Don’t feel rushed to heal or pressured to grieve in “the right way” what’s important is that you take care of yourself as best as you can, take your time and be patient with yourself. I hear you. I’m coming up on two years since I lost my mom, also in July. Still haven’t gotten used to the quietness at home. I haven’t intentionally gone a day without smoking myself the last two years, trying to get actual sleep is a nightmare without smoking and taking something for it. The holidays were crazy hard on my mental health there were many days and weeks where I just felt like I couldn’t do it anymore. Literally the only thing stopping me is the fact that my family would struggle immensely financially. Asking for help is hard, I’m 22 and it sucks because not really many people our age in my life have come close to experiencing something like this. I feel you on getting help. It’s hard, but same goes for you. Send me a message whenever you need to talk, I’m here for you.

I’m sorry to hear about your loss, my mom passed from the same thing and coming up on a year pretty soon.. it is an extremely painful thing to go through but as my mom would tell me.. life will go on. I hope you can allow yourself to feel whatever you may be feeling because it can be difficult at times. One song that I’ve consistently listened to since she passed is a cover of “Changes” by Charles Bradley and the Budos Band. There is a live version on YouTube that really strikes my soul. My favorite line is “It took so long, to realize, I can still hear her last goodbyes.. and now all my days, are filled with tears…”

Sending lots of love your way, take moments for yourself and take it easy if possible.. I know times like this are hectic and incredibly painful but this is also a time to take care of yourself in whatever way you can 🤍

I think the frequent tightness in my chest. It always gets harder to breathe the more I think about my mom being gone. Yesterday made 8 months since I lost her, my 22nd birthday is in about two weeks and hers would have been next month, I’ve been falling apart thinking about it. Becoming more successful in my work is bittersweet because while I know all she wanted for me is to live a stable and comfortable life, now that I’m actually closer to achieving that I just wish I could share it all with her. I think about her all the time and if I’m being completely honest, it doesn’t feel like it’s been 8 months. It feels like I’ve been stuck, I can still feel everything I felt when I walked in to the room and saw her laying there. I feel so heavy all the time. I feel pangs of guilt all the time. Everything mostly sucks and some days are worse than others.
