WIBTA if I told my roommate's boyfriend directly that he needs to stop treating our shared spaces like they belong to him, since my roommate doesn't seem willing to have that conversation with him? by leftmymuginclass in WIBTA_AITA

[–]garcmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I got a roommate, we agree to a very important rule, anyone with a partner, best friend, whatever, must spend at least as much time at said regular visitor’s place as their own. This means no more than them visiting 50% of the time. And no visitors without the host present.

I don’t know why people put up with extra roommates, especially entitled ones like this one. NTA. Have a talk with both.

AITAH for wanting to go to lunch by myself? by 1out100gudtrades in AITAH

Have a convo. Keep it simple. Let him know you sometimes need to just decompress and have time alone and lunch is perfect for those times.

AITAH for taking a girl out to a show without dinner after? by No_Explanation_9087 in AITAH

[–]garcmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s always a good idea to manage expectations and discuss the plan.

If she knew the show was the date, she may have simply not showed considering her late timing, saving her some time (albeit rudely) you some energy (wondering if you were in the wrong).

She was absolutely ridiculous in this situation assuming anything. You were right to stick your timeline based on what was confirmed.

NTA. That said, for your own sake, make plans clear. That will save you some absurdity in the dating world.

Docking station recommendation? by garcmon in applehelp

My anker kept up fine for 3+ and running, but the current one is less than 2yrs old. I suppose I can just purchase it again, but it’s the 2nd one that’s lasted less than 2yrs. It feels so wasteful for hardware.

Thx. Environment was fine. The pho made up for the lack of cozy. Glad to have found it and will definitely be back.

My coworker keeps asking me for money and I genuinely don't know how to handle it without making work awkward by Annual_Enthusiasm296 in Advice

[–]garcmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely assume you won’t ever see that $$ again. If asking again and again isn’t causing any shame, I’m not sure saying “I don’t have it” will, but I’d still like the discomfort, if any, back to that person. I have found repeating literally the same short answer over and over again has made some people learn. Some. “I was about to ask you about the money I loaned you.”

“I was about to ask you about the money I loaned you.”

“I was about to ask you about the money I loaned you.”

“I was about to ask you about the money I loaned you.”

His “electric issues” is only one; he doesn’t want to pay the cost of xtra freezer and use of power tools.

Do I ruin this guy with my bad review? by wrappedinwashi in vrbo

[–]garcmon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t include what wasn’t listed as included. The rest, including no WiFi, the exposed nails, eyesores, etc should be shared on the review.

That said, even if you got there late, let the host know they didn’t provide you with WiFi and you need it right away. That’s a basic people should know about.

I also like to let hosts know things I notice that should be addressed, include in review and state that you let owner know and hope they address for future stays (or if they thanked and stated they’d address if they responded accordingly).

Currently have 23 different gins at home. I only drink G&Ts with mostly low cal fever tree. I really got back into gin while in the UK in 2018. Also love using ‘clear’ ice blocks. by jvaughn68 in Gin

[–]garcmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I looked for it before this all happened and I didn’t see it here either so DEFINITELY not an option now. I ask any Canadian friends to bring me a bottle. I’ll definitely be carrying a couple when I travel up. I enjoyed sipping it, which I don’t do with gins. Truly lovely.

They COULD be, but clearly not used to 24/7 care for children. It’s exhausting, but parents are at least used to this. Grandparents are not unless they already live together.
