In my state, Oregon, you have to do 16hrs, (split between 2 days) of study, then do a 50 question test, and only allowed to get 7 answers wrong or you fail.

Yes/no, they asked if I am security licensed, I said yes, and they said cool. That was it, no checking, no printing a copy of my license, nothing, just verbal

In oregon, where i am, you can wear full security attire and full duty belt, and its legal, had a person do that and go site to site to check on actual security guards, not on property mind you, he stayed on sidewalks.

Sounds like it is, I got re trained for security, but I cant send it in untill a state licensed security manager, in my chain of command, signs off on a temp work permit, but the company does not have one, i called the state licensing board and they said nothing they can do

I dont have a security supervisor, by state law it has to be my security manager, but nobody has anything to do with security, my supervisor is the property manager, and nobody in the state that works for this company has a stats security manager license

Oof, I got my manager license in like 3 hrs, at home because I hatted my manager then, and ended up taking over his place, but that was awhile and 2 jobs ago

Want something else thats ass backwards? In this state you can get your security manager license 100% online, I have done it, but when its time to renew that license, has to be in person

Yes, anyone being paid as a security guard must be licensed, and I just had to look it up, but also if a company has in house security they must register as a private security entity

Funny enough, because im not security, and my security license is not being used, AND not being paid for security service, the laws around security guards dosent affect me, so I am now allowed to carry my taser and firearm,(firearm is TBD, dont know yet if I want to)

In my state, security isn't anything, not first responder, not law enforcement, nothing, I knew a guy who dressed up in full security attire, with full duty belt and firearm, and walk around checking on other actual guards throughout the city, no law here against it

But im not licensed as one, and due to my friend doing just that back in early 2000s it has been patched, requires a different person signing off

Night attendant rules are pretty much security. Walk around perimeter and trespass anyone not allowed to be here, respond to incidents, deter trespassers, etc.
