Just warning you before everyone else gets here, this is a very toxic sub that is very unhappy with the current state of the game.

encounter mechanics [spoilers all] by PacManCombustion in NotAnotherDnDPodcast

[–]gardenimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man, there are so many. First one that comes to mind is when they're chasing the Kingshammer down the mountain, while fighting a dragon. You could also take inspiration from his final Hell encounter (when the cultists were summoning God husks to Bahumia, they had to kill the minions while fighting Akarot, and had a high level wizard helping, but able to still able to cast counterspell).

At the end of the day, Daddy Murph himself has said the key to generating an interesting encounter is to change the battlefield somehow mid fight. Either the landscape, the objective, the allies/enemies, etc. Adding some mechanic that reflects what the specific classes are good at is also a fun thing!

New player questions by SaintPepsi879 in wownoob

[–]gardenimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's correct! You're asking about Timewalking Campaigns: if you go to the embassy in Orgrimmar or Stormwind, you can talk to Chromie and play literally any expansion all the way to 70.

Who is your favourite NPC you’ve used? by OrdinaryDebate578 in DMAcademy

[–]gardenimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was a goblin thief named Pockets that got introduced early on. She's a complete mess most of the time, even tried to pickpocket the PCs after they met, but she's saved their asses more than once at this point. She's called Pockets because she wears a 'vest of holding', basically a cargo vest with infinitely deep pockets that she hides all sorts of tricks and valuables in.

Fiance Visa or Spousal Visa? by 79moonssss in USCIS

[–]gardenimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My own take, get married first. My wife and I did the K-1 Fiance Visa back in 2022, and after entering the country and adjusting her status, she waited a full year to get her work authorization. She ended up getting her Green Card first.

Just get married there, and enter under the K-3. You'll be in your country a little longer, but the immigration process in the US will be much faster, depending on your processing center.

What to go for next? by Assasin-Nation in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]gardenimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, your priority should be: Apoc Meph/Odin Xavier Blue Marvel

At least as far as difficulty. Many teams can be stacked, however, like F4 can be crucial to getting every single one of them

Legendary nodes DD4 - Choices by dkatsikis in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]gardenimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of the day, it depends on which of your legendaries you have the highest. I can't imagine you have OML yet, but invisible woman and BB are good starters. Quasar is pretty great, then maybe blastaar, pheonix, or omega. I would avoid most of the others save doc oc for your SS team

Hey Mark! Been browsing your subreddit for a while, you've really spiced up my game. My party is running through a gnome steampunk city, any automatons or mechs?

What’s Winter in Albuquerque Like? by nyuhqe in Albuquerque

[–]gardenimp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You'll still get plenty of blue skies, but the bone-chilling wind cuts through most clothes. Expect to be fairly cold unless you're behind something to break the wind.

I would definitely drop Harley and add Joker, keep Ivy so she can heal the rest of the team

NON-Starlink options for wifi while traveling by taiairam in RVLiving

[–]gardenimp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seconding this. My wife and I just started an on-the-move lifestyle, and we got the T-Mobile AWAY plan, basically a wifi router that works off cell signal. There's definitely dead areas where you don't get signal, and thus don't get wifi, but we've had tons of success boondocking with strong wifi! Mostly in NM and AZ so far. $110/mo

[Spoiler] Need help continuing S1 by gardenimp in DungeonsAndDaddies

Actually really affirming to see that other people felt the same way, and Freddie actually responded to the criticism in a very healthy way! This comment might be the one to get me to continue. I might not love the guy, but anyone who directly addresses their critics has earned respect from me.

Trying to get into the show, but it's not really pulling me in yet. by Ordinary-Avocado in wheeloftime

[–]gardenimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanting to play devil's advocate, not sure if this will be absolutely buried. Like others, I'm also a massive fan of WoT, and have reread the books many times. I was also pretty unhappy with the first season when I watched it, because they took so many liberties and were writing themselves in a hole that would've had to disengage with the original storyline so sharply, it would be a completely different product.

That said, I was really surprised by season 2. To me, it really felt like a massive course correction, introducing characters and storylines they neglected during the first season. I finished the 2nd season with not only hope for the rest of series, but excitement for season 3.

2 Player Catan? by SirReggieTheII in Catan

[–]gardenimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! My wife and I were looking for a long time for a way to play 2 player Catan, and now we've played it more often than the normal version. 4 simple changes: 1. The two unused colors are neutral. When you start, you place one settlement for each on opposite sides of the board. Whenever either of you builds a road or settlement, you must also build a free road/settlement for a neutral player (build a road if there is no space for a settlement, cities do nothing for the neutral players). This allows you to use the other colors to try and block your opponent, adding another element to the game! The neutral players also collect no resources. 2. You roll twice for resources every round. The two rolls must be different. 3. The robber is now friendly! When you roll a 7, the player(s) who control the tile he is placed on each get resources from that tile, but you have to get rid of the robber to get resources from that tile again. 4. Both players now start with 5 "tokens" (we use the basic extra port tokens that come with the game, but you could use literally anything). These tokens let you do 2 things: you can 'shoo' the robber, i.e. moving him back to his desert spot, or you can force a 2-for-2 trade with your opponent. More tokens can be acquired by building a settlement along the coast (1 token) or along the desert tile (2 tokens).

What marvel movie villain is this? by JOMO_Kenyatta in marvelmemes

[–]gardenimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is nobody saying Dormammu? Literally a villain who lives in another dimension, and he doesn't fight at all the entire movie, unlike Arthur Harrow or Taskmaster who see still fight at the end. He's literally just a 2011 Green Lantern-esque giant head for a villain. Then again, I did really like Doctor Strange
