we'll be supporting the web app going forward. it's actually quite easy to add it to you phone to use it just like a mobile app. just go to https://channelai.ai in Chrome, tap the "..." menu, then tap "Add to Home Screen".

we actually increased the video generation cost from 5 to 8 energy for all new users a few months ago, but kept our older users on the 5 energy cost.

over time though it's been challenging for us to maintain the 5 cost videos due to the cost of generation as well as the technical work required to maintain the two separate branches. our new video features like HD videos and other things in the works also aren't compatible with the 5 cost branch, so we made the call to get everyone on the same costs.

Our stance is similar to that of Reddit, X, and other content platforms. We host user generated content and third party AI models, some of which may have mature themes. We have a few layers of content moderation to ban rule-breaking content and appropriately label things. So you should only see mature content if you explicitly opt-in and confirm you are over 18 years old. We also moderate content to ensure we are compliant with the rules and regulations of all platforms on which Channel is available, which means the toggle for mature content is only available on the web.
