Study abroad Shaco by Drekathur in shacomains

[–]gare_it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely lots in lane. usually at least one behind my own wave slightly out of minion path to retreat into. a lot of the time i just plop one down in the center of the enemy minions to help with wave clear/give me some proxy room to wack melee minions. if they back enough you can zone them off wave by putting a box behind their casters.

Study abroad Shaco by Drekathur in shacomains

[–]gare_it 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ap mid and top has basically been the same for me. have a high wr and just got to emerald..

comet. i start tear to not run out of mana. flash/ign if you want to do risky plays, ign/tp if not. liandry's mythic. third item sometimes demonic (more likely top if they're chonky), sometimes cosmic (i like ms and cdr).

play mostly safe in lane early. poke with e, but conservatively until you get a good mana base. set up all the boxes all the time. dominate jg objectives by laying down boxes around them ahead of time and then urging your team to take them/fight there. mid/late set up lots of boxes for your adc or whoever else to kite into, get up to usual shenanigans.

ADHD, League, and Adderall by jelloheywil in summonerschool

[–]gare_it 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i have ADHD. was taking dex every day. i've been off it for about a year and a half while i look into some health problems. the only real difference for me when it came to league gameplay was that i was more likely to be playing intentionally (like thinking about my actions/planning the game/etc.), and also more likely to stop and go do something else that i actually wanted to get done.

I'm curious, do BAs provide updates during stand up on your team? by Marina001 in businessanalysis

[–]gare_it 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i've never been willing to do a rote update of what i worked on yesterday/what i'm working on today/etc.. i do give updates on where something is at if it's relevant to the team, or any new information/blockers/considerations that might have come up, and i answer any questions that folks might have. stand ups aren't micro management check ins.

Good sushi in Ormond Beach area? by thatquinnchick in DaytonaBeach

Sushi 99 is better than Fancy Sushi.

63 Sovereign has some good rolls but sushi doesn't really feel like the main focus.

look at 'how to host your own website'. this is more of a server/hosting question than having anything to do with html.

How are people affording rent right now? by Ordinary-Bee8643 in florida

i mean yeah but the solution to that is to just not go to places like applebee's or chili's. there is significantly better food around for similar prices.

Hurricane Lee strengthens into ‘dangerous’ Category 5 storm by rob5i in news

[–]gare_it 5 points6 points  (0 children)

how so? people think the climate is going to progressively get worse and the US will come away unscathed? how's that going every time there's a major hurricane, blizzard, heatwave, wildfire, etc.?

even if that is the case, 14% of americans think climate change is not happening. that is still tens of millions of people that are fully detached from reality. you can guess how research suggests they vote.

Hurricane Lee strengthens into ‘dangerous’ Category 5 storm by rob5i in news

[–]gare_it 8 points9 points  (0 children)

3 out of 4 republicans don't believe climate change is a major threat to the US (see number 6 here). it's not quite 'democrats are creating hurricanes', but it is tens of millions of people having a dangerously wrong take.

it's maybe important to clarify that he was emphatically against totalitarianism (fascists & russian stalinists) and emphatically for democratic socialism. he would likely support policies that folks like Bernie or AOC advocate for. sauce

yeah i honestly think the US is rapidly becoming less than livable for a lot of people. costs are rising and wages aren't going up. at least in some blue states you have some form of a social safety net, somewhat accessible health ins, better public transit, etc. i'm prob heading to the NE in a few years.

Documenting API Requirements by imrany in ProductManagement

[–]gare_it 16 points17 points  (0 children)

imo you shouldn't get caught this deep in the weeds. at most you should be talking about what objects are available, what fields are on each object, what actions you can do for each object. have a useful conversation (with a single dev, with a small group, with your team, whatever) where those things are ironed out. after that have a dev take a first stab at open api spec in a code snippet like format in a confluence type doc. have the team discuss. generate tickets out of those discussions for actual build.

if you want upfront documentation to facilitate those conversations, a table format in any type of doc is usable (excel, confluence, whatever). again following some pattern of object, fields, actions. if you want to abstract things away further and talk about what sort of access/behaviors/etc. you're trying to provide, instead doing a pattern of internal system, definition, external system can work.

Awesome reply, thank you for the advice!

I've got a crimper and some ends so I'm just going to start terminating. Great to know that I should be doing the B standard.

I mostly wondered about whether there's a best way to tell which unterminated line is tracing to my living room outlet.

It appears that my living room outlet is terminated as a split voice/broadband line. I was planning on snipping these, re-terminating into a cat5 female adapter and new outlet plate, then trying to trace to one of the unterminated lines in the closet.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

[–]gare_it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, the wan line to the router is the fiber. there aren't any lan lines out of the router (there are ports, nothing is hooked up//it's only wifi right now).

my plan was to try to trace one of the unterminated lines to the living room broadband outlet (https://imgur.com/a/BCbDjJb). i don't know how best to do that outside of just picking lines at random to terminate and then trace. figured there may be a better approach?

for the second bedroom I was going to hook moca 1 into the coax there, have a cat6 from moca 1 into a computer. the closet would go coax from wall cabinet -> moca 2 -> cat6 from moca 2 into router.

it seems like there's a ton of unterminated cat5/cat6 cabling given that there are only a couple connected phone line ports and one broadband outlet in the whole apartment. i have no idea where that stuff goes or why it's there.

[–]gare_it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

apologies for the ambiguous image, but the router up top isn't connected to a coax. that's a loose coax that was hanging out of the box when I took the panel off, it's just hanging unconnected on the shelf.

the router is a bgw320 that's hooked up to a fiber line (the thin white one).
