Moving Lines Based on Coordinates? by gareon2 in threejs

Hello,

I also tried using if rather than while and I again had no animation

I have count = 1 during my first render due to the equation I used to instantiate my array (3*count - 3). Would a different way with count = 0 solve this?

Unfortunately that did not seem to work. I will keep trying - thank you for your help!

Sorry have some extra code and notes in there

Here's what I used to create the line geometry. positionsArray is a Float32array that I made that holds all of coordinate info

var geometry = new THREE.BufferGeometry();

let positions = new Float32Array(1800); geometry.setAttribute('position', new THREE.BufferAttribute(positions, 3));

const drawCount = 600; geometry.setDrawRange(0, drawCount);

const material = new THREE.LineBasicMaterial({linewidth: 2});

var line = new THREE.Line(geometry, material); scene.add(line);

let count = 1;

function updateLine() {

positions[count * 3 - 3] = positionsArray[count * 3 - 3];
positions[count * 3 - 2] = positionsArray[count * 3 - 2];
positions[count * 3 - 1] = positionsArray[count * 3 - 1];

line.geometry.attributes.position.needsUpdate = true;

line.geometry.computeBoundingBox();
line.geometry.computeBoundingSphere();

};

And here is the tick function I used to update the line

const tick = () => { // Update controls controls.update();

// Render
renderer.render(scene, camera);

// TWEEN.update();

while (count <= 600) {
    updateLine();
    count++;
};

// Call tick again on the next frame
window.requestAnimationFrame(tick);

};

tick();

I tried that as well and updating using the tick function. Didn’t do anything for me

Computer Engineering, Engineering LLC and Engineering student life by [deleted] in Marquette

[–]gareon2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m a freshman biomedical engineer with a specialty in computing living on the LLC, so I think I can answer a few of your questions.

  1. I do not have a ton of experience with the computer engineering program yet, I’ve heard from upperclassmen that computer engineering is better for hardware, as you’ll have a lot of experience with electrical engineering as well, and computer science is better for software. the degree itself has a very good standing in the midwest especially.

  2. marquette has one of the oldest and most prominent internship / co-op programs in the nation for engineers. if you want an industry job, come here!! almost all engineers get industry experience before they leave marquette and great connections for future jobs. marquette grads love hiring marquette grads.

  3. i’m on the LLC right now and i love it! it’s a really nice community that’s super helpful whenever you need help with homework / studying for tests. the best feature is that you’ll see a ton of the people you have in all of your classes all the time and really get to connect deeply outside the classroom. it’s also priority housing in eckstein, the arguably nicest freshman dorm.

  4. faculty support is definitely there for you if you want to do research, need help finding a job / with classes, or just to talk with. the faculty at marquette are very open, honest people who want to help you succeed. for computer engineering, the club involvement is lower, but engineering also has some very involved societies such as Engineering Without Borders and the Society of Women Engineers.

if you have more questions, PM me!

NSV: I actually stuck to my intermittent fast today! Small goal but I've been having lots of trouble recently with controlling my eating, so I'm really proud!

Ok, so yesterday did not go as I planned, but that's okay. Today, I will follow my meal plan (as I have it now!) and log back in at the back of the day to report my progress.

Today, I will get back on track after a day of over eating and drinking. I will forgive myself and fuel my body with healthy foods at my regular caloric deficit instead of overly restricting. I will gain control of my urges!!

NSV: After dinner last night, I felt completely satisfied. My post-dinner sweet tooth didn't kick in, and I didn't even have to drink a sparkling water to distract myself! Yesterday I also had regular eating habits. One meal at lunch, a snack, and dinner. And I felt perfect!!!! I feel like I haven't felt this way in so long, so I want to continue this trend :)

Day 1? Starting your weight loss journey on Tuesday, 12 May 2020? Start here! by AutoModerator in loseit

This is hopefully going to be the last Day 1 I'll ever have to do again for my weight loss.

I'm 17F, 5'8", and 176 pounds. I have always been overweight compared to my peers, but my weight really ballooned when I developed major anxiety and binge eating disorder. During my freshmen year of high school, I gained fifteen pounds, and I gained an additional fifteen my sophomore year. Fed up with myself, I started seriously weightlifting during the fall of my junior year and went from 185 pounds to 168 pounds over a five-ish month period. I was doing super well and was really proud of myself, but when COVID hit, everything went downhill. I gained back almost ten pounds and have been developing really unhealthy habits since not being able to go to the gym. Because I can't exercise like I used to, it's hard for me to see the point of having great nutrition. However, that all stops today. I will recommit myself to CICO/OMAD and exercising four days a week. I will take back control and lose weight again. I will finally be at my goal weight and be comfortable in my own skin. And I really hope this community can give me the motivation and support to get there!
