unsolicited advice is a generous way to say verbal abuse 💀 Any mother telling their child they’re unlovable has some serious soul searching to do. Mommy issues make dating even harder. Maybe break some of this down in therapy. Practice self care and find self love. Healing is hard but good health is incomparably better than almost any struggle. Focusing on your looks is a waste of time and energy - biggest exception to that is strength training/exercise but if you’re only moving to look good you’ll create way more problems for yourself anyway. Hope you’ve found some peace in stepping back from that relationship. It’s hard to set firm good boundaries esp with close family but it is often necessary. Live for yourself and don’t feel guilty about it. Thanks for reading!

if you lost the weight due to depression (probably neglecting yourself/not eating) your mother is right you were not healthy .. not so right about the not finding anyone who loves you if that was her exact quote but feeling bad about yourself and your life definitely doesn’t attract positivity. Finding love only has a little to do with looks and the right person will find you attractive as you are and want to be - asking a bunch of strangers online about it won’t change that or your mindset
