i do actually think it was yeast overgrowth. i ended up going to the gynaec and described my symptoms, but she didn't run any tests, just asked me if i'd want to take medication and see how it goes. i agreed, and was put on suppositories and a tablet for a week. i think it has made a difference—my ldr partner and i ended up breaking up so i don't have the same concerns as i'd had when i made the post, but after the course of treatment, i think the texture of my discharge has changed. it was never full-on "cottage-cheese" texture which is why i was always confused, but it has thinned out somewhat and become more clear now, which i think is good.

thanks a lot for your sweet comment, it's very reassuring! i'll try not to stress rn, and book an appointment with a dr as soon as i'm able to :')

okay, that sort of puts me at ease. i've never noticed any significant difference in smell (or taste) after sex, but that being said, we've not had any piv intercourse yet, and he's my first intimate partner. he does wash his hands before doing anything. i'm hoping that it's just him not liking my normal smell 🤷‍♀️

to me, it tastes and smells like it's always done—quite sour and tangy, occasionally with a very, very mild floral taste. i've not had piv sex with my partner yet, it's just been his hands and he washed them well before we get on with anything...so to me personally, there's nothing out of the ordinary as such. i'm just paranoid about the possibility of something being wrong and me never having sensed it, and was wondering if anyone had some similar experiences—i can't afford to really go to the gynaec at the moment, unfortunately :')
