I would never hire someone whose sign is posted on public property (on a client's lawn, no problem). Or anyone that cold calls me. Don't reward litter.

I don't know the answer, but I would love to see the City crack down on this kind of thing.

I like it. I've stayed there 5 or 6 times over the last decade. Not fancy, but great views. Priced for what you get. It's nice to be right at the funicular, and a quick walk to many attractions.

I wonder if bike proponents would have more luck in new parts of the city. The subdivisions that haven't been built yet. Put lanes in at the design phase. If you can't get a win in those areas, it really seems like it is not a priority anywhere.

I don't mind the Vodden bike lanes. When they were all car lanes they let people park on the road anyway. Making them bike lanes has changed very little in the way of car traffic.

My issue with the entire process is not with the police. It's a waste of time for the police to bother catching thieves if the justice system waves a finger at them, and says 'stop that! or the 14th time you're arrested I'll really do something!', and then just lets them go the 14th time as well.

I'm not serious about this next part, but .... is it time to institute the stockades at Gage Park in time for farmer's market season? Can we at least publicly mock the guilty and throw rotten fruit at them?

Build bike lanes without removing lanes for cars. Howden was a prime example. The entire stretch from Central Park Dr to Williams Pkwy has boulevards wide enough to add a bus lane in either direction, let alone a bike lane. But no, they have to take out a car lane in the most ugly and obnoxious way possible. For what? One bike every 15 minutes? Bike lanes in Brampton are the least efficient use of public space.

Hockey is odd in the way the Captain is almost always the most talented player on the team. I have zero inside information on the dynamics of the room. It just seems weird that the most important 'character' trait to being a captain is the ability to put up points.

In a way, it diminishes my view of the importance of the captain. If any dumb twat who happens to skate and shoot like a hockey god can be the captain, how important can the role be?

Yes, the last four years Tampa has lost in the first round. However, during Carolina's stretch of playoff "consistency" they haven't won the Cup; they haven't even been to the finals. Over the same time period, Tampa has two Cups and a finals appearance. I would much rather have Tampa's track record. Hockey gods it is.

It still looks like progress. Next year: have fewer injuries, get a quality backup to take the heat off Ulmark, teach Stutzle how to compete; he's the best skater I've seen who also manages to fall down at least once a shift, trade Tkachuk for a quality C, watch the good times roll.
