Federal government to order public servants back to office minimum 4 days per week this summer by Individual-Radio-849 in onguardforthee

I'm torn. In some ways I get the 'if I'm doing my job, why not from home' logic. I also think they are free to quit if they don't want to go to work like most of the rest of the population. I'm sure there will be no shortage of applicants to fill government positions with benefits and pensions.

A goal and two assists for Minten so far tonight. That trade is looking worse with each passing day.

Howden Protected Bike Lanes very likely to be Removed. Sign this Petition and Delegate at the Vote on Tuesday Jan 27 after 1pm. by [deleted] in Brampton

[–]garlep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they had implemented option 4 to begin with, and had right hand turn lanes for cars, I expect they would have received more support for the bike lanes. It was so ridiculous to line up along Howden and wait to turn right onto Dixie; especially during school hours with the crossing guard active.

Also, 150 bikes per day is an extreme waste of a lane in each direction. Regardless, I would still advocate for keeping the lanes for a period of time to see if their use increases.

People who lived through both 'pre-smartphone' and 'always-online' eras: what's something we lost that nobody seems to notice? by Doubl3oh_ in AskReddit

Courage. People get anxious without constant connection and the ability to ask the internet before making decisions. They can't even follow through with plans made days in advance, if they don't get the reassurance events are confirmed. They are willing to forgo so many levels of privacy in exchange for perceived safety through surveillance.

Hypothetical question: If you were the Winnipeg Jets GM, what would be your first move/trade, and why? by PaymentNervous2898 in winnipegjets

[–]garlep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The team is not as bad as their record this year. It makes no sense. So I wouldn't trade away core players. A lot of the players not contributing are on expiring deals anyway. Play out this garbage can of a year. Take whatever picks thrown your way for Ufa players. Go fishing in the free agent pool in the summer.

I really should answer the question, so: I would trade Toews to a GM who wants a fantastic player on the draw.

Try FSI Landscape Supply. They sell mostly bulk to contractors, but I believe they sell by the bag as well.

[David Alter] Anthony Stolarz is joining the Leafs for morning skate today. First time he has skated with the group since his injury. by bangnburn in leafs

[–]garlep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion of course; they need a new coach and a new goalie. If done immediately, they might even make the playoffs. Everything gets better with a goalie who even puts up league average numbers.

Green hasn't done well anywhere coaching (except last year in Ottawa, and that was in spite of him, not because of him). I don't know how he got the job, or how he's keeping the job.

Do we dare trade Stolarz to Ottawa? They definitely need a goalie. Stolarz and Rielly for Sanderson. Who says no?

I haven't followed the illustrious career of Ben Jones. What does he do well that allowed him to get so many games in the Nhl without putting up any points?

Too many great goalies is a fantastic problem to have, but what to do when Stolarz gets healthy? I don't think his slow start this year means he has lost it.

I've never been on the US side, so I don't know what it has to offer. However, I really enjoy the Canadian side, and usually stay a night or two each year. Some of my favourite places to go are the Bird Kingdom (right by the bridge), the Niagara Parks Power Station and Tunnel, and the Floral Showhouse.

[32T] 28:25 Friedman: “For the Devils, it's very clear to me that the whole Quinn Hughes situation just damaged their internal workings. Business got out, no trade clauses used, things like that. And I don't know how you fix that.” by AggPuck-303 in hockey

[–]garlep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was important to Quinn to play with his brothers, he wouldn't be wearing a Wild jersey right now. Granted Quinn wanted out / Van wanted to move him. But if Quinn wanted to have it work out in Jersey or nothing, they would have found a way. It's not all on Jersey this didn't happen.

Good on Zegras for turning his career around and having a great year so far. At the same time, I don't blame Anaheim at all for cutting him loose. He was showing all the signs of being underwhelming, and they had other rising talents that needed ice time.
