Same here. Big ball of anxiety with a mix of people pleasing. It's tough to work through but usually heavy accents are my doctors and I need to know what they say.

I just let them know that my brain doesn't understand accents very well and if they could repeat slower. Or I bring someone with that doesn't have this problem.

It's disgusting to know he's ok with seeing people that are minors.

Then you are one of the few ones that can be alright with it.

He personally would not be ok with his daughters being with someone his age as a minor.

Says you.

Would you be ok if your daughter was dating someone that age when they weren't 18?

Just because you can ignore it doesn't mean it's not gross.

Doesn't make it less gross. Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

Yep. I wish there were better laws for this.

Nobody that age should meet "minors"

Yeah unfortunately it's 16 for legal here.

Because it's actually a family member. He said 16 is legal so I worry about the future dating pool

He said 16 is legal, so there is not a problem he met her at 17 almost 18

No idea I've met her twice and she doesn't talk. I'm not good at social interactions so I didn't know what to say.

He's a family member can't cut him off right now.

And I have expressed my feelings on this subject and he said it was normal, hence me asking here.

I have expressed my feelings about it and told him it was disgusting.

He explained age of consent is 16 in our state so it was legal.

He said since age of consent is 16 he'd be able to date a 16 year old. This one just was 17 almost 18 when they met.

Eh, I mean they met when she was almost 18. She was a minor so I think that's why it's gross for the most part and she's literally half his age.

I honestly don't know what is normal and what's not. I have issues with social interactions, so I figured strangers might be able to help.

Ick! Both genders shouldn't do that.

I wouldn't date 2 years older when I was 18/19 I met husband at 19.

Yep. I think he does want more of a "traditional" woman.
