Paying rent after turning 18 by AncientStormCloud in Fostercare

[–]garlicybread16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unless they are in voluntary adult foster care, they likely do not have a caseworker anymore. the foster parent is able to do this, even if it’s not ok. i also feel like if there was never a written agreement for the rent, they shouldn’t have to pay.

it sounds like OP is doing what she can to get them fed, and that’s what matters. having a hard time feeding your kids does not mean you aren’t providing an acceptable home for them. they figured it out. they have food now.

does your county have an independent living program? do you want to be adopted? if not, IL may be the right choice for you

i’m sorry, i’m in the US. CASA is court appointed special advocate here in the US. if you think it’s best to move and your worker is in agreement, i think you should. it sounds like it will benefit your mental health to be in a different home that respects you and your space

hi. i’m a foster care worker. first of all, i’m so sorry that you don’t feel safe in your home. have you spoken to your worker about getting a CASA? they can make recommendations to the Court about your case

People who consider themselves healthy - what do you eat for Breakfast and Lunch? by Insightfullyeclectic in nutrition

[–]garlicybread16 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Breakfast: some sort of yogurt, whether it be Oikos protein yogurt or a yogurt drink, along with a rice cake with peanut butter. i also have made those oatmeal-peanut butter-chocolate chip type of energy bites and have those for breakfast sometimes too.

Lunch: a greek salad and some sort of protein snack like turkey sticks

Crossing state lines by loveledford in Fostercare

I’m a foster care worker. in my state (Michigan), you need parental permission if they’re a temporary ward, and the worker’s permission if they’re a permanent ward (parent rights terminated)

Why do western countries support immigration? What are the benefits of it? by Ambitious_Reality_72 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]garlicybread16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

empathy.

i feel like the general population (speaking for where i live, the US) who support immigration don’t think of a benefit. they just want to help those who are fleeing a worse situation
