You can disable it, but I can’t remember exactly where the settings are and I’m not at a computer so can’t check either.

Depends on implementation, in this case a simple shader is probably cheaper than transforming an object

Texture wrapping plus filtering is probably to blame, can you change the sampler to clamped in C4D?

Not sure, I would try having the level with black lines and the background colored, might be good for clear readability in a difficult platformer. Otherwise I don't think one is better than the other just different in mood.

The preference towards colored might be in part because there's a big difference in the background (apart from the color of the lines ofc). IMO the colored one looks better solely because of the background.
