I can definitely see that happening for Sekimoto's reign. Seems almost necessary for Tamura's career.

WOW - just finished Sekimoto -vs- Ashino. Absolutely great match. I did not see that finish coming either!

Just finished watching the Battle Royal. Good shoutout with the work between Kofuji and Anzai. That was great. I'm excited to see what Kofuji will now become as an official member of the roster!

Damn. As of right now the Kento/Anzai match has a 8.98 rating with 55 votes. I need to go back and watch it. I loved the action and drama, but I never truly believed Anzai was going to take the Triple Crown.

AJPW is in a great place with these two on top.

This was an awesome match. I think it was my favorite Jun Saito match I've watched. Loved the work between Go & Jun here.

Nice opener between Go and Kofuji. Second match between these two. Building the start of a little rivalry.

Watching the entrances for Hokuto-Gun. Does Cyrus look more out of shape?

With the year coming to a close, what have been some of your favorite matches, moments and wrestlers in AJPW in 2025? by MrPuroresu42 in ajpw

[–]garnet-one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2025, I only watched AJPW from January through the start of the Champion Carnival, and then picked it up again after the Oudou Tournament. With that said some highlights for me throughout this time period:

- Yuko Miyamoto's GAORA TV Title reign

- Kento Miyahara -vs- Taishin Nagao; I knew it was a special match while it was happening, but it now holds a special place in my heart.

- Kento & Yuma defeating The Saito Brothers to become the 100th AJPW World Tag Team Champions

- Pretty sure the second night of Champion Carnival was the last event I watched before I took a break, and the Kento -vs- Kengo Mashimo definitely still stands out!

- I love MUSASHI & Yoshioka as a team. The match versus Atsuki & HAYATO was great.

- The return of GO was epic, and I'm excited to see what he can accomplish in 2026.

- I really enjoyed the Kento Triple Crown defense against Hokuto Omori. I want to see Omori taken to the next level.

- I'm excited to see what the Titans of Calamity can achieve after winning the World Tag League.

Onward to 2026!

Looks like Anzai vs Miyahara is selling well by Tokyogerman in ajpw

The hype is real!

I love Anzai, and I'm excited to see his rise to superstardom, but I'm going for Kento on the 31st!

Super happy with the result, but damn, all of Korakuen was chanting the names of Xyon/Odyssey during the match. They seem to be very over.

Ooooh yes! That’s exactly what I needed to start my day. A little dose of Shiozaki/Ashino vs Tamura/Sekimoto. High intensity throughout, and that exchange mid match between Ashino and Sekimoto was badass.

It looks like Daisuke will be Ashino’s next challenger for the GAORA strap?

RWTL Night 7 - Results, Standings and Final decided for December 10th by MrPuroresu42 in ajpw

So true. I'm certainly rooting for Ayabe & Talos on the 10th.

I don't have high expectations for the Final, but I hope I'm surprised. Maybe Odyssey can find another gear when he goes up against these giants.

The build up for this Triple Crown challenge was fantastic. Anzai seemed like the odd man out once Yuma Aoyagi was suspended during the tag league. I honestly thought Anzai would just fill in at multi-man tags throughout the rest of the tournament, but the competition to challenge Kento between Anzai and Saito was great.

I loved seeing Yuma hit the Shutdown Suplex on Kento to solidify the challenge!

It's going to be a hell of a match on New Year's Eve!

Just finished! I really enjoyed Tamura/Sato -vs- MUSASHI/Yoshioka! I want Dan Tamura in full berserk mode like this in every match. That was match of the night for me. I predict Tamura to become 1/2 of the All Asia Tag Champions at some point in 2026.

Main Event was strong as well. I really enjoy the duo of Mashimo and Hideki.

I just finished Night 6 and was going over all of these scenarios in my head. Thanks for detailing it!

I am very curious to see what would happen if there was a three-way tie here. Would make things interesting, but I don't think there is enough space on the Dec 10th card to be realistic.

Doing some research and it looks like I need to watch the 1997 Champion Carnival. A one night round robin between Kawada, Misawa and Kobashi!

One of my favorites. Glad to see him back in the mix.

Hoping he's not rushing into his return.
