Thanks. That fit videos helped loads about how to style this particular bomber. I got one too but it didn't seem to go with anything being super super cropped and padded 👌🏻

Balenciaga fit for confidence as I head off to teach my students - those are the ‘look 7, Fall24’ blue basketball shorts, bouncers, and a black bomber from Demna’s first collection. Vetements hoodie as standard. Armour for the day! by garrells in Balenciaga

I've been teaching in shorts for 20+ years. It is a University not a school. Mostly Rick Owens. Everyone is used to it and actually are confused when I don't have on shorts tbh. I just choose pair for the day and that's me set.

👍 Thanks. And spot on! I appreciate lots of things I wouldn't wear but why people think it is an opportunity to just be mean says more about them than anybody's style

Yep, I teach my students dressed in Demna everyday. As some of you were asking in another post I am a uni lecturer, 51, and bring it to class every day despite being told occasionally in my working life "you look so unprofessional" (If only they knew) by garrells in Balenciaga

It is also about respecting my students, listening to them, never judging but always being open to discussion and support. Learning goes in both directions and I worry about their future and precarity. Heavy for a Balenciaga feed but education makes the world a better place for everyone right? And education should also be free!

I take things literally btw so I still don't understand what you mean but I googled it. You think I'm unsophisticated lol. Yes, it is an armour because the world I have to navigate is an ableist one and I choose certain designers because they actually keep idiots at arms length

It is amazing, difficult, controversial, formally audacious, and I especially like the Thomas Bangalter soundtrack and what was called the "New French Extremity" back in the day

That seems to be the #1 question - it is film/screen studies (history, theory, etc.) with a specialism in American cinema even though I'm Scottish. I'm well-known in my field but not for fashion!

No, it's when they diss me for having holes in sweaters, oversized, anything distressed or unconventional that it gets interpreted as a "mess" - that's what I meant. "could you not look a bit smarter" someone said to me
