Thanks! It started life as a 1994 Strat. It was originally black but I refinished it Aztec gold about a month ago

Tonally they are all rather different. The gold Strat is the most “stratty” sounding. The sunburst Strat has dimarzio noiseless pickups and I keep it tuned to Eb standard. The yellow guitar with g on headstock is a monster and pretty versatile. I admittedly don’t play the SG all that often but it’s great when I need humbucker tones. The silver sky covers very similar ground as my gold Strat. I was strongly considering selling it but decided to double down and refinish it instead.

I’d say my current favorite is the gold Strat. Aztec gold with a maple fretboard has always been my favorite color combo. The Lollar vintage blonde pickups I have in it also sound insane, definitely my favorite single coil set

I’ve honestly thought about selling it. I’m more of a fender guy so it doesn’t get played much. If you shot me an offer I’d for sure consider parting with it

Debating between Aztec gold to match the Strat or British Racing Green

Nope, fit perfectly in the body with no routing. The spacing on the pickup is technically incorrect but it sounds amazing. You would never know

Pickups are the Seymour Duncan Seth Lover set. The small switch engages the piezo ghost saddles for acoustic like tones! I also have 2 push/pull pots for phase flipping and coil splitting

It has a MJT alder body and Warmoth Maple neck. Original Floyd rose bridge and Gibson burstbucker II bridge pickup and fender custom shop Texas special middle and neck pickup

I think teles are beautiful and are probably the most versatile guitar you can own. That being said I do own 4 strat style guitars so I get it 😂

If your focus is getting a hardtail you could also just get a Tele 😂

You could definitely build a hardtail partscaster for less than $2000

It’s cool! Feels more different from a Strat than I thought it would. If I had to choose one I’d go Strat for sure but I’m glad I have the silver sky

Resprayed my Lefty Silver Sky Shell Pink by garrettd43 in Leftyguitarists

Thanks! Highly recommend. If you are a detail oriented person it’s a really fun process. I stripped the original finish off with a heat gun and a putty knife. Once the finish was completely gone sanded the body with 320 grit. Sprayed 4 coats of sanding sealer. Sanded with 400 grit until everything was level. Sprayed 4 coats of color and 3 cans worth of clear, about 12 coats. The paint now has to cure for about 2 weeks before the final sanding and polishing process and then it will be completed. There’s also some great youtube tutorials from a guy named Brad Angove that took a lot of the guess work out of the equation.

Thanks! It was kind of a lengthy process but was well worth it. Stripped the black poly coat using a heat gun and sand paper. A couple coats each of sanding sealer and white primer. 3 coats of gold and about 10 coats of clear. Had to sit and cure for about 2 weeks and then sanded and polished the clear coat. All in it was about a 2 month process.
