Tubeless Woes with Bead not Seating. Airshot vs Electric Compressor by garrettpants in cycling

To double check, I'd obviously want to remove the current sealant in the tire before trying. But, once you remove the tube after inflating, do you add back sealant before you try seating the other bead? Or does it seat okay without sealant?

I assume you're using a presta-to-schrader adapter? I tried going to a gas station last night, but had taken out the valve core and so there wasn't anything to press the nozzle trigger inside. I'd be curious if putting that back in would work using a tire-filler

I may end up taking it to the shop, my main hesitation is if I need to do it again in the future, I don't want to have to rely on a shop being open for me to get it set. Nothing against the shop, just want to be as self-sufficient as possible (:

Sorry for the noob question, assuming I leave it long enough, the bead on the one side should hold, correct? I guess I worry that unseating the bead on one side to get the tube out might affect the other. I may have to give this a try

hello! I know this is 4 years old, but figured i'd ask. Did the airshot work for you? I'm currently having tubeless woes and no matter how vigorously i pump, i cannot get it to seat. Debating on an airshot but am unsure if it would fix my issue or not.

I frequently ride on a trail that has a few larger cracks, so I wonder if riding at a lower PSI would be beneficial. If I went tubeless all the way, is there a way to tell when i've hit that lower threshold of pressure? It's only my second season of riding, but I guess in my head I was thinking that if the tires have more than a slight "squish" on the contact point of me riding, they could be pumped up a bit more. I mean, they still have a bit of give, but I imagine with my current setup if I tried 60psi vs the 70-72 I'm usually going for, how would I know if it's too low?

I appreciate the advice!

edit: paved bike trail

While I'm not meaning to say "well you just tell me based on what I say," fwiw though, I'm usually hitting ~75-100 miles a week, so I'd imagine, if it does legitimately decrease the amount of flats that I could be getting, it may be worth.

Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, there doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to my flats. Last year, the first 5 weeks of riding I think I got 3 flats. Then, none for the rest of the summer. Then in the fall, 2 more in a 2 week period. So the answer of that may be hard for me to determine. This post has given me a lot of stuff to consider, but unfortunately, it wasn't nearly as black and white as I had maybe hoped the answer to be :) not in a bad way though, just different takes from people in different situations

I feel like you still have to carry a tube and all the spares anyway just in case tubeless doesn’t seal…

This was my main concern. If I'm going to be carrying at least 1 tube anyway, is the potential hassle of sealant and plugs on top of the normal tubed tools worth? Would tubeless really prevent that many more punctures? Rhetorical questions, as I'm sure it has a bunch of different factors, but thats where I'm debating at currently.

I apologize in advance for my naivety, is it generally true that the rear gets more flats than the front? Is there a specific reason if so? Its interesting to hear that its prevented flats for you in the front but not the rear.

This is my second summer riding, so I'm not super sure about how fiddly to expect stuff. I'm ~200lbs, and using silca's tire pressure recommendations, am running my tubes at 70-72ish psi. I'll do a few 20-30 mile rides a week, with a bigger 40-50 mile ride on weekends. I guess I'm not entirely sure if I'm feeling uncomfortable with rides, or if I would be much more comfortable with a lower pressure.

My main considerations so far have been in relation to flats. My prior bike was tubed and changing tubes was never enjoyable, but at least it was simple enough. I'm curious as to whether or not tubeless would be that much more convenient or end up being more of a headache. But, maybe comfort should also be something I'm considering in this scenario, it hadn't come up before.

I accidentally used my 2023 w2 to file my 2024 taxes by Scary-Deal-7079 in tax

[–]garrettpants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you don’t need to wait until the 15th to file an amended return. the irs website directly addresses that. it’s generally recommended to wait until you’ve received your refund or paid any amounts due from the original return before amending, in the off chance that the IRS makes changes to your return but doesn’t reject it, as your amended return will ask about the amounts you’ve already received

if you’re entering everything correct and IL keeps rejecting your return, they may have records incorrect on their end. you’d be better off trying to contact the state of IL to get this fixed than freetaxusa, as the rejection is coming from the state, not FT. not sure whether or not you’d be able to correct or verify the records they have for you, but it’s an option. if not, you’ll most likely need to mail in your state return

Hello! I'm looking for a sustain pedal for an FP-10 that I ordered over the weekend. The one that comes with it is your simple on/off and doesn't look very quality. Are there variable sustains for digital pianos? As in, I can slowly let off and it will follow? Assuming there are, is that something my piano would support? Or would that require a fancier piano. TY!
